Regular track days (usually) require people to tape their lights up. Press days typically don't.

yes... hence the confusion....

i'll ask for some more info on the pics. whomever ownes the bike has done a good amount of work to it. at least brakes, full exhaust, & frame braces.

Not sure about the frame braces, but it does look like the swingarm was braced (or it is from a different bike). The things around the engine are case savers, which seem to have been swapped from the frame sliders in the bottom two pictures.

definitly a nice looking bike. could be one of a few things regarding the headlight & signals. I was told the best bet is 3mm clear tape over the plastics. Who knows....

it looks better w/ the oil pan too. I've always wondered how that headlight assembly would look on the GS.

that's a frame brace Alpha. Earlier ZRXs needed extra frame support because the flex was so bad at 100+ mph it might cause a tankslapper.

BTW, do you know of a website that offers good deals on some of the suspension components you modified? I have been thinking seriously about a new bike due to the "loose" feeling I get, particularly at higher speeds. I think if I got my forks re worked, added a brace and a dampener, ohlin shocks and the frame brace you have on your ZRX, my problems may be solved. I wonder if I could get it done for less than $1000.? What do you think?

Well if you recall our conversation during the ride the most important thing with the ZRX is the shocks. Any moto-x shop can rebuild them. Typical cost is $60-95 at most shops. Cheap & easy, & works for most riders except the heaviest/hardest riders. (me)

We probably should just go out sometime, & spend a few hours optimizing your setup. Get it close, & figure out where the weaknesses are. Remember the 2001 ZRX1200's got most of the problems mine had fixed (stiffer swingarm, more extensively braced frame.) You may not need everything I got...

Call me sometime dude, or see me on the next ride & we can chat about it. Maybe Mines Road next weekend or something like that?

That looks fairly stock to me, but I'm not a z-rex expert, by any means.

Neat bike.  I'm not in love with the fairing, but neat nonetheless.  I think they handle pretty good if you lower the front forks a bit in the triples.

Naw, it does have some pretty decent mods done to it. Full exhaust, braced swingarm (all the trusses in it) that looks sweet as hell, the frame brace (as I just learned about), and probbaly a lot of internal suspension work too.

B12 v ZRX...

I'd probably say the B12, but only because of weight.

I doubt the ZRX will ever get the respect it should.  Mostly because most squids would think it is a late 80's bike with late 80's power.
