My 06 hasn't started in 3 days. I have not been riding that much seeing how I havn't taken the brc yet. I am this weekend :). It
s been in the 20 40 degrees here for the last 3 days. My bike being in a unheated garage.  It tries to turn over then the starter starts clicking. My bike only has 2k on it so Im hoping it's just the cold weather. My g/f's friend who rides a SV650s has had trouble the last 3 days as well. He was able to get his SV started though. Think it's just the cold?

Carbureted bikes do not like to start in cold weather. You need to add full choke before starting.

Also, your battery is dead, which is what the clicking noise it. Hook your battery up to a battery tender and let it trickle charge overnight.

I have similar problems w/ my bike. My cells were low so I added some more distilled water and that seems to of solved the problem. It now starts when its in the low 40s 2nd try vs trying until the batt. was dead before. I started thinking about taking out the plugs and spraying a shot of starter fluid to get it going. That might help but its a PITA. Check your battery and you might even want to wrap a heating blanket around the engine. Odd I know but it works.

Rejetting the bike will also help with cold starts.  The carbs run a little lean stock, and that means they really don't like to start cold.  Bumping up the pilot jets will make a huge difference, even with a stock exhaust.

I have a batt. charger for cars, it has a setting for trickle charging. Can I use it? Or do I need a motorcycle battery charger? Thx

Car chargers are too strong, you are going to want one specific for smaller batteries. Battery Tender Jr., for example.
