So here's the written Install.

Direct plug and play, no modification of hardware necessary. Best $20 mod I've ever done for the GS. Took about 30 minutes and sounds much better. Not terrifyingly loud, but enough to make heads turn.

Hella Disc-Type High-Tone Horn, 12v, 400Hz, 115 db

Buy it  here

1. Remove old Horn, located in this position. 10mm Bolt

2. Once you take the horn off disconnect it by simply pulling the connectors off. Give them quite a tug.

Close up picture of the connectors.

3.  These connectors will plug directly into your new horn. Polarity doesn't matter.

4.  Remove the bracket from the stock horn and bolt the new horn on.

5. Reattach the bracket with your new horn and you're done

6. Grab a cold one

Looks basically the same as stock. Should mount the same. No wiring connections are visible in the pics but I doubt that it would any different.
Common sense in not very common.

yeah..  simple horns like that have a pos connection and the ground is usually provided by the body/frame it mounts to.

super easy to adapt if the install isn't identical.
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

horn arrived today, will try to put it on this thursday. It's about 5% bigger than stock horn but I can already tell it's better constructed. Can't wait to hear it!

If you don't mind,  can you take a pic of the instal instructions and post it.
for my own curiosity.

Did the install. DIRECT plug and play, no modification of hardware necessary. Best $20 mod I've ever done for the GS. Took about 30 minutes and sounds 1000x better. Not terrifyingly loud, but enough to make heads turn.

Will post the pics I took tomorrow. I have HW to do.

ok so the high tone is more $.    Does that mean its more audible at the same decibel?

How would you rate the tone & loudness compared to the stock horn?

I know this isn't quantative but I'd say about three times as loud. Not as high pitched either as stock, a bit lower. Very worthwhile upgrade.

good write up, dude.  Thanx for the pics.

Great. I'll be getting one.
Rang one place & they wanted $44. I said  "no thanks" & hung up. Will have to do a ring a round.
Unfortunately, with postage + the conversion rate, buying from your side of the pond does not always
mean "cheap".

So easy, even I might be able to do it...

I'll make sure and order some extra horn bolts before hand...  So, when I break 'em I can just pop the new ones in.
