Just Hope it doesn't Snow on Everyones Parade. :icon_confused: I'd Show up myself with the 69 if I knew my Truck would make it back home.I'm up as the Main Entertainment at the Spring 2 Stroke Meet in May but I know I won't be Able to make it unless my Boss Sells Her House.Everytime the Spring Meet Comes I'm Mulching and During the Summer/Fall meet I'm Watering and Pulling Weeds.   never get to have any fun.

Snow  :o

I don't know about the deals gap area, but Ft. Campbell, KY is forecasted with Snow flurries that week.

In my case I can just leave.  The Barber vintage Motorcycle museum in Birmingham, AL is on my way home. barbermuseum.org

either way I will definitely enjoy that weekend.

I'll be there camping. Maybe a hotel if it gets really nasty, snow or ice. There might be a few of us, we'll see.

Deals Gap is Pretty much in the same Elevation that I am.Most Parts are alot higher. One bad thing About the Smokies here are it's really Unpredictable even if you watch the Forcast 3-4 Days before hand.Of course it is a few hours to the South of me so the Climate does tend to be a Little Warmer.

I will make note of those dates. Not sure which bike I will have...hopefully I will have the 92 (your old frame) with the GR650 motor but probably my 541, either way at least my 97. Just need to bolt the exhaust on. It is a GS you would appreciate.

I may be down there around that time.  We're definitely going in June, but the details have yet to be ironed out...

I picked up a tent at Walmart and a coleman heater.
Walmart has their tents at halfprice. Well here anyway.
How much is the camp ground?  More important WHERE is it?

I'm running out of space in the wagon.  :o

Pray to the weather GODS.  NO SNOW  NO SNOW  NO SNOW  NO RAIN either

NO SNOW! yes indeed. Getting there can be a little tricky. Here is the site for the place http://www.dealsgap.com/contact.htm I'd just google map it. I tried yahoo last time and well, dont. Be sure you pick up a good sleeping bag(mummy bag good to 0 degrees) too and ground pad if you dont have one. We might luck out but if not the lows could be in the 20's or worse.

google map - check!

I'll pick up a ground pad from wallyworld later. (1/2 price)
I got a bag but I am sure it aint for serious cold weather. I am hoping the coleman heater stands up to the test.

Worst case I'll end up laid out in my wagon if I kitty cat out.

I sent you a valve tool in a letter, should've been there by now, damn usps...  but no big loss if you don't get it.  It was a pretty crude home-made tool anyway.

Ya'll have fun at the gap, wish I was there... we got ice here last night.

So at sun up I'll be rolling out of New Orleans headed to Deals Gap (28771) I planned on camping up there but all the places are closed for the season.  :flipoff: I put some new pads on the GS along w/ a oil change and chain lube/adjustment so she's all ready to go. I'm hoping the weather holds up enough to at least avoid snow. I'll put some pics up when I get back.
