ok...
If you've ever purchased something from www.newenough.com ; you'll know what I'm talking about.

towards the end of the checkout process, the screen prompts you to select a riding forum a given list; in which newenough will donate $1.00 from your purchase. This isn't another dollar tacked onto your bill; it's a dollar that newenough donates themselves. In your behalf.

I've made two purchases from newenough so far, and am going to make a third pretty soon. I made the $1.00 donation both times(it's friggin free so why not), but they were to websites that I had never even seen before. I always wondered why GSTwins wasnt on the list of sponsored sites.

I sat down today, and sort of on impulse, decided to email Paul, the owner & webmaster of Newenough. No second drafts, no planning, etc. Just got his email & wrote him a quick note:

To whom it may concern,

My name is Joel Grant and I've purchased a few different items from your site over the past year. Thank you for offering such a great service to the riding community. Your prices are definitely the hardest to beat, your website has a great layout, and your employees in customer service are a huge breath of fresh air!

I wanted to ask you about your website support groups that are listed towards the end of the checkout process; the part of the checkout where the buyer has the option to donate a dollar to one of websites that are listed. What is actually required to get a riding site on this list?

The riding site I think should be on this list is:
www.gstwins.com  , mainly the interactive forum at: www.gstwins.com/gsboard

I am not a moderator to this site: I am in no way affiliated with the owner/ operator; I am just a humble member who has gained a vast amount of safe-riding techniques, maintenance and repair knowledge, and a great attitude towards riding as a whole because of this site.

Actually, I learned about the Newenough.com website because of the many happy customers over at GStwins.com. A lot of our members are also frequent Newenough customers. One of the moderators to our site actually posts Newenough's closeout deals all the time.

This link: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?action=search2 , will show you a quick search I ran of "Newenough" in our For Sale section. Running a search of the other sections will also show you many happy Newenough customers on GStwins, who are advertising for your site by word of mouth.

Please take the time to check out the wonderful www.gstwins.com/gsboard forum. It's not the "flashiest" site, but I think you will be pleased with what we have to offer the riding community and new riders. This is basically the only US website dedicated to the Suzuki GS500, and we're growing rapidly. We are a thriving site, full of happy Newenough.com customers, and it would be much appreciated if you would add us to your list of $1.00 donation websites. Thank you very much for you time and consideration. I look foreward to hearing back from you soon!

Sincerely,

Joel Grant

Hi Joel,

So mods/ owners please check out the link Paul has given. I think It'd be fairly easy to get GSTwins on that list. I'd rather donate the dollar here; rather than some site I will never even go to... From the info, the donations are returned in the form of gift certificates towards Newenough. Remember that raffle thing we were talking about?

What do you think?????

This has been covered. I can't remember why they didn't do it last time. I think they had a reason though. Or maybe that's just my sleep deprivation talking, I don't remember. I'm sure Pablo will chime in and tell us. Or Pandy. Probably Pandy.. she seems to have more free time to postwhore.... err... patrol the boards..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

All I've come across for why we're not doing it is because "it's too much hassle for John"....

I dont see why John really has to be involved beyond the point of filling out the application/paperwork.... but what do I know...  :dunno_white:

Like I said.. I'm pretty sure there was some reason.. I'm sure pablo or pandy will tell us. One of my other forums actually just gave away like $400+ in free stuff from new enough, thanks to this program.

I dont remember off hand why we decided it wasnt a great program but this might be why:
QuoteRedemption of "Donations" by Site Owners:  Site owners can use the money in their "kitty" to choose merchandise from our store to be used in raffles, auctions, contests, give-aways, drawings, etc. or to just to sell to raise money.  Owners can structure their promotions to their liking but these general requirements should be observed:

"New Enough" should be named as the merchandise donor.
A link to our store should be displayed as part of the promotion information (other links to New Enough on the group's site are appreciated, but not required).  Advertising banners can be found here if needed.
Merchandise redeemed through this program should ultimately wind up in the hands of the group members.
Forward web address of all new promotions should be emailed to Paul (New Enough owner) when the promotion or sale begins.

so I think it was that the money donation was in the form of a credit with them and not a direct cash donation.
