Actually found the service at Micheal's in Reno to be decent for the gs.  We took Dragonlover's gs for the valve clearance check.  Mind you we'd measured clearance before we took it in.  They had identical measurements.  runs like a charm.  Cheap to have done too.

Exhaust leak near the engine?  A small one will sound like a "tick tick tick tick tick" and can be louder on deceleration.  Just a guess.

+1  I had that prob installing my Srinath flange.

You took off the header ??? if so, you'd prolly have gotten one of the exhaust gaskets crooked/missing ??? If its at the flange maybe try muffler tape, or exhaust paint or it will get a carbon deposit on it and seal up fine.
