Nothing Sounds better than a V8 (Well Except for a 2 Stroke)I love waking up to the Sound of the Garbage truck Every Wednesday Morning.it's a 74 F250 with a 390. :thumb: My cousin used to Own the Local Garbage Business and He Had a 73-76-79 Ford F150/F350 (Don't Ask it worked ) with a Mercury 410.That was One rare motor. Then one day it threw a Rod thru the Oil Pan so we Jerked it out and started rebuilding it.When we took the Crank to the Machine shop the Original 427 Crank magically turned into a 390 Crank when we Got it back.  Well we installed every thing and Fired her up only to find out that after it got warmed up water was Squirting out of the Valve cover on one side. :mad:We tore it back apart and put everything into another Block and it only Lasted a month or so.
When I was a Little feller back in the 80's Dad had a 48 F100 and he Installed a 327 with a Tunnel Ram and 2 750 Holley 4 Barrels and a Muncie Rock Crusher from a 69 Vette.  He didn't let the Front wheels hit the Ground too Much.  I'm Not into Chevy's too much but my Cousin Does have a 68 Nova that has a Keith Black 350 with a Tunnel Ram and 2 850 Holleys. He's Already totaled a Chevy Vega with that Moto when he can Keep a Shifter and rear end in it. Last time it was the Tranny so he found a Mucie Rock Crusher to go in it a couple of weeks ago. :thumb:

I'm more into Diesels or Dodges more than anything but I still Appreciate the Sound of any V8.I've been trying to find a Nice Dodge Dakota on Ebay for the Past Couple ofMonths with a 360 and a 5 Speed but so Far the BestI've done is a 318 with a 5 Speed. It's still going for a little more than I can Afford.

There is a grass runway down in the valley behind the house.
The owner has an old T-6 TEXAN. (military trainer from the 50's?????)
I like a cammed V-8
I FRIGGIN LOVE A 9 CYLINDER RADIAL as it flies by a little over the tree line at low-mid throttle.
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Likely an R-985.  Likely the latter, they're cheaper to operate.  At takeoff power settings the 2-blade prop makes a massive amount of noise as soon as the tail comes up.

Nice flybys:

Car V-8s are missing 4 cylinders and about 1400HP.

RR Meteor, in desperate need of a test club and a chance to come off the enrichment circuit:

The Meteor is the pussycat unsupercharged version of the Merlin designed for tank use.  Only 600 HP as opposed to 2100 like the later variants of the Merlin.

Beautiful sound.   :icon_mrgreen:

Well I guess I'm just spoilt, but I have, probably, Aussie's premier aviation museum about 2km from my house.
http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au/aircraft/

All aircraft (apart from the Sabres) are flown regularly. There's nothing like having the 2 Spitfires and several visiting Mustangs all flying in formation.

As for me, when I get my Rotax 912S up and firing, I'll be like  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Suzuki_Jah, sounds like we've got some other things in common other than GS's.  I have a 74 and a 77 f100's.  Also an 81 z28 and 89 corvette.  They all rumble,,,,, well not the z or 77.  But the 77 does when it runs.  The z28 is bone stock,,, but needs me to really find the time to finish the body work and paint.

Sure send it on over.

I work out of a 23x24 garage.  It is usually full with a 64 Impala (working on) and my z28.  The GS barely fits behind the camaro.

Must have had happy fingers yesterday.  Its a 63, didn't notice I'd put that till I saw the reply.  Its not mine, if it was I wouldn't be putting the money out to rebuild it.  A 4 door land yaht has no true collector value, but this one was bought new by his grandmother.  Should have the suspension done in the spring and start building the engine.

In a few weeks I'll be the proud owner of a 1996 Mustang Cobra with Sean Hyland cams and a full exhaust system (sans catalysts).  It is the most WICKED sounding V8 I've ever heard.  I grew up as a mechanic in a race shop and I still say this Cobra sounds the best.  I'll get some sound clips up eventually if anyone cares.

96 was Naturally aspirated from factory right?  my friend has an 03--05 I cant remember which year lol. but it is supercharged and he did a bunch of work to it. its so freeken fast!

Yeah dude, the 03-05 Cobra is a whole different ball game.  Ford claimed 390hp at the crank, but people were seeing that at the wheels on the dyno straight from the factory.  With a few simple mods (overdrive pulley, exhaust, etc) its a very streetable and reliable 450hp car.  Nuts!

My cobra is nothing like that, I'd hope to be near 400hp at the crank, but I bet its closer to 350.  Its nothing insane, just a fun little car.
