I am launching my own business this week. I have most of the equipment I need but will be purchasing a lot more this coming month.

I can do any welding repairs that a customer would need such as cracked frames or any other motorcycle parts that need welding. also anything cosmetic that needs welding and feathering to look flush again can be done as well.

I can mass produce small fab jobs such as brackets and other nifty things.

pretty much if you have an idea or somthing that needs designed, fabricated, or just plane repaired, you can send me a message on here and I will send you a qoute back with how much things will cost. you can also email me at vmfr@jjvphotography.com (please allow for the email to be activated starting 02/08/07 *tomorrow*)

I am certified in:

TIG, MIG, and Stick welding. not that you would ever need a motorcycle parts stick welded though lol.

I am limited to mill and lathe work at the moment but soon will be aquiring my own machines.

but again any ideas you have or if you just want some prices on some things let me know and ill hook you up.

considering my business is new I will be doing things for rather cheep, enough to make some profet but no wear near what the cost would be to go to a local fab shop.

Congradulations and good luck (not that you would need it, since you already have the skill)!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Awesome, if I think of anything, I'll let you know.

I know lots of people want thicker fork braces than stock, srinath sold some for awhile...

Other things people use/I have seen, custom heel guards, custom rearsets.. I'll add more as I think of it

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I KNOW that if you set up some kinda jig/template and made some SM2 knock offs, you could sell em fast and easy on here for $60-80  :thumb: and It would only cost you a few bucks in metal  :thumb:

Good Luck Josh, despite our differences, there's no denying you're a skilled machinist :thumb:

thanks Lisa :)

and good call on the handle bars. I could make these for much less. infact I could do some titanium ones or heat treated aluminum. stainless is nice but heavy.  I can even draw a diagram of how different angles will effect body stature and feel on the bike. it can be a build your own custom bars page and people can submit thier angles and what type of feel they want and I can produce them to make each bike a one off.

titanium is expensive but not as expensive as people make it out to be. I can most likely produce bars similar to the SM2's even create clip ons out of titanium for about the same cost or even less.

sound good?

Dude! Make some bars that are like the sm2's but drop you lower.... Kinda like clip on...but not like a clubman.
Good luck with your buisness!!! You'll never get rich working for someone else!
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

ok here are some pics I really need to start bringing my camera to work haha.

anyways I can do custom motorcycle ramps as well I just built two this month. one for myself and one for my boss. I used to different methods too.

#1 sqaure aluminum tube stock, very easy and very fast to produce  looks good.

#2 round tube or pipe  aluminum stock. a little more of a pain to weld and fit and takes more time but is lighter than the sqaure.

both work great. basically I really do make these ramps custom.  I take the hight from the ground to the top of the persons tail gate then I do my trig and figure the rise and the angles of the ramp, I then create a 100% sturdy (you can drive a mac truck on) ramp. they are guaranteed never to bow or crack under any load of motorcycle. yes they would cost the customer because aluminum is not cheep but the customer would never have to buy another ramp again!

here is the round stock one I made I personally like the  sqaure one better and I will try and take a picture of that tonight.

this is for a 2005  ford f250 .
part of the fab process on teh round tube.

the steel erection fab shop I work at, but soon to be leaving for my own business and less stress I am working on active orders for the airforce and that is were I do all the real custom work right now.  that and my shop im building

plasma cutting , decomissioning bomb shells

vance and hines destruction and refab :) to be continued.

A couple of other project to consider (some may have already been mentioned):
Rearsets. Fixed or adjustable (I have drawings of both)
Foot pegs. Replace stock rubber pegs for rider and passenger.
Clip-ons. But do not limit yourself to only 37mm. If designed with enough material, the main design can made to fit 41mm (Katana, SV), 43mm (GSXR600).
Exhaust flanges and midpipes.
Adjustable dogbones for rear shock.
Case guard crash bars.
Frame sliders.
Chain adjuster plates. Mak mentioned working on these but I have not seen anything more about them.

Some of this stuff others have made (or talked about making) in the past but like a lot (myself included) other things happen and the availability to make things becomes limited.

Oh yeah and about the ramps....making them foldable to fit inside a pickup bed would a great. I had a pic of one that someone else had made. It was a very simple design.
Common sense in not very common.

I could still make them foldable I have thought about it. just cut them and reweld strong aluminum hinges, or have a center piece that slides in the sqaure tube to support it once more.  that would be more like a piece together type
