I just bought a pair of Teknic Violator gloves online, they are a size M. I'm not sure how tight these are supposed to be. Right now they are pretty tight, my fingers fill up the glove, and my knuckles get a little worn if I start making a fist.

Are the gloves going to break in and get bigger, or should I exchange for a bigger size?

Thanks,
Jason

Are they all leather?( I really didn't want to look at their site)

If they are leather they will stretch out, but remember that these are motorcycle gloves so it is a rare occasion that you would make a fist on a bike. The key is are they comfortable on the bike when you are grabbing the bars and levers and ect. They are made specifically for bikes, so its not that uncomman.

I have a pair of AGV all leather race gloves and the knuckle armor digs in when I make a fist, but when I ride they are very comfortable, so I dont think its a good way to test a glove.

Gives a review after you had them for awhile

I tried a pair of Violators on a couple of weeks back. Teknic gloves do run a size or 2 small. I normally take a medium or large depending on brand but with the Tekink's i found the Xlarge suited me better & they where still tight in the fingers.
They have leather upper with kangaroo leather palm.

That's what I have been thinking. These are my first pair of gloves, and I have been reading that they break-in overtime so I have been worried about sending them back in fear of getting a pair that might be to big.

Before you send them back, go to a store & try on a few diferent brands & see what size best suits you. Use that as a bit of a reference for the Violators. They will bed in but by how much i'm not sure.

I sent in a request for an RMA, since my local dealer dose not have Teknic I'm going to get a pair of Shift gloves. I haven't heard anything about Shift, but their gloves are very comfortable.

Thanks for the advice.

Kangaroo is excellent for glove palms. Excellent feel, thin and very tough...better than typical leather. I slid 30-40 feet on both palms (JR Speedmaster) and there is no sign on damage.
Common sense in not very common.

If they are leather you have to think about what happens if they get wet though.  They may shrink even further.  You may want to try conditioning them too.  That might help shorten the break in period.

I've heard of Shift but don't anything about there gear.
If you only commute through city streets then you could probably get away with an "average" priced pair of gloves but if you like riding through the twisties, try & stick with the Violators. There a very good glove.
As has been said here before, last thing you want is some one else wiping your ass while you hands heal.

The Shift SR1's are $130 the same price as the Teknic's. I'm hoping that they will offer the same protection.

I was talking with my friend who told me astory of a rock flying from a bike riding in front of him and hitting his knuckle. This was before he wore gloves and he told me his knuckle exploded. So I understand what you are saying.

I have a pair of es that were DAMN tight when I got 'em, but they streatched out....  It's true that they shrink when they get wet, but not for long...  It only takes making a fist to get 'em back into shape.

I'd rather have gloves a little too tight than a little too loose...  I can think of a couple other things like that too.
