Orlando to Chicago in 2 days on a new bike.

So I bought a new bike today on eBay and got an incredible deal, the only problem is that it's in Florida and I'm in Chicago.  What I'm planning on doing is flying down there this weekend and riding it back home, I am curious as to how the weather has been in the southern states lately.  Is this tolerable riding weather?  I'm used to Chicago's weather, so riding in 30-40 degrees won't kill me, but should I expect it to be worse than that?  Any help or advice would be great guys/gals!

BTW, it's a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero with 1,200 miles that I got for $3,150... go team Doug... err, Brian.

It's been varying between 30 and 70 here in Atlanta, it's been odd. Lately it's been hovering around 45 during the day, and I've been riding with just blue jeans, a summer jacket (with rain liner and fleece) and summer gloves. Granted, my hands go numb after 45 minutes of highway speeds. If you've got decent cold gear, you should be fine through Atlanta.

Dude if you can handle 15 degrees fla and the rest of the frigid south should be no sweat!

We're expecting warm weather this week and weekend with an increasing chance of rain later in the weekend.  Orlando will be a few degrees from record highs near the end of the week.  I wouldn't worry too much about the first day, it should be quite pleasant.  I'd worry more about day 2.  Once you get through Georgia, there's no telling what kind of weather you will encounter.  I'd check the forecast for the cities you'll be traveling through.  A quick look a google maps says:

Atlanta, GA
Nashville, TN
Louisville, KY
Indianapolis, IN
Chicago, IL

will give you a good idea of what to expect.  Given the forecast for rain here, and most places I've checked, I'd say that you should plan on crossing a weather front. It definitely won't be an easy trip, but the temperatures don't look like they'll be arctic or anything.

it will be in the 60's and very close to 70 this week and weekend through Richmond VA.   even when its 15 degrees outside its not so bad if you dress right. its just the hands that really get cold. when it gets cold here its a damp cold.  but you should be good if you get home before sunday.  sunday is expecting some rain through Richmond.  friday and sat. you are good.  just be safe if you are traveling 95. there are a lot of idiot drivers out there.
