Well as for the problem of drifting to the left or right when in a wheely, id say is because your leaning or putting weight to one side when pulling it up. Concentrate on staying centered, no matter how many times you wheely you can get in a bad habit of coming up crooked. Concentrate on staying centered and pulling evenly with your arms. OR your wheel allignment is out. If you cant mentally fix the problem than check your allignment.

I dont know about everyone else but I have an 03' Naked and have no problem pulling it up in first and riding a wheely out with stock gearing. You can put whatever gearing and mods on a bike but it doesnt get you to the balance point and keep you there. That is up to you, and if you can do that than you should be fine with a stock GS. Remeber just because it doesnt come up in 4th doesnt mean you cant shift to 4th while up.  My YZ450F can come up in any gear with a monkey riding it ( I believe this would be the same with a geared up GS). It takes riding ability to take it from 1st to 4th.

Or you could buy a crotch rocket and pull it up in 3rd..... but if your used to a GS you might need to change your pants when you drop the front wheel down at 200KPH +

I just love to here you Squids Talking about regearing to get the Front end off of the Ground in First Gear. Too bad they don't make 2 Stroke Street Bikes for the US Market Anymore.The Squids would be too scared to ride.  My front wheel is up when My bike hits 4000RPM in 4 out of 5 Gears.


I would say your Bike is Trying to Fall to one Side Because it don't want to do what your Wanting it to do. Kinda Like trying to get a Horse to Jump off of a Cliff or something.

The entrance to my apartment complex is a driveway, and towards the end it has a little hump in it. Since the short driveway leads to an empty lot with no cars or people around, I pop the front up a little in second gear. Except this one time, where I thought I was in second gear, but I was really in first. I nearly shat myself.
