So I will start off by saying i removed the carbs yesterday to do a rejet, once I had the float bowls off I went ahead and removed tyhe jets, only to finf the dealer gave me the wrong ones(i'm not surprised). I went back the the dealer with the jets from my bike and told them these are the ones I need, After a few min. the guy said they had to order the mids and pilots so I said ok. I went home put the stock jets back in my bike put the bowl back on(only took off one side) and put the carbs back on the bike, put the petcock to prime let it sit for a few min. then fired her up with no hassle. Now this is my problem I rode my bike today and noticed a rattling sound comming from my engine, went back home and used a rubber hose and screwdriver to find where the noise was comming from but didnt have much luck, I went ahead and rode around my block came back and checked again and it sounded like it was comming from the valves. My bike only has 2896 miles it shouldnt need a valve adjustmet yet, or should it? I did check the oil and It was good i double check the carbs and everything around just to make sure everything was tight. So do I need a valve adjustment or is something else wrong, the bike runs good the noise has no effect on performance but its just annoying and im not sure what it is doing. the best way to describe the noise it a rattling sound or a metal to metal sound, It can also be oil is not getting to the valves but im guessing it would make the noise all the time, it only happens when I rev it or if I let go off the gas when comming to a stop.

Ummmm......the problem is.............. you have a GS.  They all rattle,  it's just how Suzuki made em :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:  If you don't notice a drop in power or mpg  it's fine, don't worry about it.  If you do your valves are jacked up, but I seriously doubt it's anything other than the GS rattle

also, after removing one carb, but not the other, you need to sync them.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I think he meant he just removed one float bowl :dunno_white:  If not what the f%$k were ya doin seperating the carbs for a re-jet?????

the problem is I never heard the noise before today. And both carbs were removed but just one bowl was taken off. And both are synced and as far as take off and idle goes it runs good. BTW how was spelling and punctuation?

Ummm schools out my brain shuts down 5 minutes after my last final :icon_razz: :icon_razz:
Not bad though

You didn't actually seperate the carbs though, right?? as long as you dont seperate them there's no need in synchronizing them.
I can believe that  it would make it 3k miles before you noticing it.  I didn't notice it on mine for a week or two.
I really wouldn't worry about it :dunno_white:  these little engines are pretty bomb-proof.  My local dealer saw one that seized up at almost 60k miles that hadn't had it's oil changed once :o :o :o and was running just over a quart in the engine :o

well im taking my bike to a shop after I get off from work to replace the fork seals(leaking all over my pipes, fairing rims caliper and tire). I know i should do this myself but I need to work about putting this engine getting put in my truck so I can get her running also. Im sure i can have the guy check it for no extra charge, the guy is a real nice guy and I have got to know him over the last few months( not taking my bike to him but ordering parts and gear from him since he pays way less for them)
