. Except this one time in band camp, where I thought I was in second gear, but I was really in first. I nearly shat myself.
   i just had to

Aside from the near racing stripe in my underwear, it was freakin' sweet. Just a little higher than I am comfortable with.

I have the benefit of having many open lots and empty roads to play around on.

just out of curiosity, is this a slipping-the-clutch stock GS wheelie in first gear, or a roll-on throttle wheelie in first?

makaveli2502

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Well, maybe you can pick up a salvage title 1100 for a track bike soon.

Eh, for a track bike I would rather go smaller.

Now for a drag bike...

haha, i just think it's funny all you people say less teeth in front, my mentor said more... but he goes fast. not fast from the line, but very very very high numbers fast and taught me to ride like him. Now, i can't do the high numbers with my stock gs, but i have the bad habit of still riding like him in the twisties...

mach1

id rather go drag not circut or whatever you call it drag is has more of a rush for me  :icon_twisted: and im looking at getting a dirt bike soon

ya it be fun to drag and circuit race i think.  i'm wantin to get an 06 or 07 gixxer 750

hmmm... wasn't there a point to all this rubbish? .... OH YEA!

check your sprocket-side chain adjustor. Wheelies have a tendency to put so much stress on the adjustor that the little metal plate on the end of the swingarm will be bent into the swingarm. That may be why the first few wheelies were fine, then you started drifting.

if this is the case: hammer the metal plate flat, hammer in the ends of the swingarm slightly to help prevent the plate from folding in, re-aligh the rear wheel, and then make sure your axle is torqued properly.

If that plate bends once it will bend again if you do not tap in the end of the swingarm, even when that axle is torqued properly. I got to a point where I would re-align the rear wheel, go for a 2 minute test ride up my street, & the thing would still come out of alignment. Since I did the above steps I have had no problems at all.

makaveli2502

ya when i first got the bike (around july)  a started trying to clutch the wheelies and it ended up bending that adjuster plate and my chain ended up falling off, luckily i was just a couple of blocks from my house haha  :icon_rolleyes:

Matty B 500

the only problem i've ever had with wheelies is a loose chain, but i guess thats with any bike.
