Yup.

K&N has there own "special" filter oil that you're supposed to use (filtercharger kit), but if you can't find it, probally any filter oil will work. In a pinch motor oil will get you by but the K&Ns don't do much good without oil.

Every time you clean it.  If you ride on the street it should only be once or twice before the engine needs work.
