I highly highly doubt any dealer would cut off a VIN number..EVER...anybody missing an 06 f from that area?

I lived in pc fl a few years ago, an to the best of my knowledge, theres was no suzuki dealer.  there was a kawa, a indian, and a honda dealer there.  If sumone wants to find out what dealer he got it from, id then contact that dealer an see what their policy is on selling scrap bikes

I think...he's trying to claim that he bought it directly from Suzuki after the dealer returned it as "damaged" ...if this was the case..Suzuki would replace the damn fairing...they wouldn't sell it to some crack head without a vin number...

The ID plate isn't the only place on the bike with the VIN number, is it?  I'm pretty sure all motorcycles have the VIN stamped into the head tube of the frame.  I could be wrong.

Yeah, this sounds pretty shady though...

Also what sort of respectable motorcycle company, or even back yard do it yourself guy, manages to "cut through a few wires" by accdient. Ask them where they are, bet theyre on teh ignition. Lol

It's usually stamped in..but its pretty easy to fill it/grind it off so its no longer there....

Exactly! Notice how none of the pictures show a key...dk how he would put gas in though  :dunno_white:

Look at the Bottom left picture, right next to the fork tubes. Those are the wires he resoldered and taped, could they be ignition wires by any chance? If they are my bet is the bike was nicked. Not sure about the key thing though, few questions such as, if it is nicked how does he hope to get away with not having a key for the tank or the seat and also for starting it. Perhaps hes fitted a new ignition. But also he has alot of feedback so im not sure? definatly not the whole story there though...

Here's one dealer that I could find http://www.jetwheels.com/ But I would say if it was Stolen it was stolen from the Dealer straight out of the Storage lot.I've seen that most dealers have a Lot with a Chain Link fence and havee the Cratess Stacked on top of each other.I wouldsay that his Idiot and his Crank Addict Buddes Probably broke in and rolled one of the Top ones off which would Explain How it got Damaged.
But from the way it looks He sales a lot of Polaris Parts so He may have a really good Relationship for that Dealer mentioned Above and sales all of the parts that they an't give Away. :dunno_white: :dunno_white: I don't know If the Story is right he should have put a picture upof the Distruction Certificate. :icon_confused:

he could have a special license to buy parts like this. dealers and companies get rid of a lot of things such as parts and junked bikes to get some money out of the loss.  the only thing that is wierd is the fact that the ID tag would be off? maybe they didnt want any warranty ties to the bike and was just selling it for parts.  either way if that VIN was produced its not like they could put the same vin on another bike.
1991 Suzuki GS500E , a bunch of crap done to it :)

Egaeus

It sounds fishy, but I'd think that someone with a username of partsrusfla and a feedback score of 730 isn't going to be some idiot who stole a bike.  I believe he's probably a legit salvage dealer who got a great deal on a "parts" bike.  If I had the money, I might bid on it myself, but I wouldn't pay much more than reserve, but I'd check out his story first.

If a GS falls at the dealership, and only crack heads are there to hear it.. Does it still make a sound?  :dunno_white:

Possible scenarios are:

  • Test ride gone bad. Dealer applied for a C.O.D. for insurance payoff
  • New purchase, riders wrecks one block away before ink is dry on Suz. loan. See above.
  • Bike is on lot, automobile crashes into displays of new bikes. See top above.
  • Bike is on lot, delivery truck crashes....See top above

The "breakers" as the Brits call them, are not all articulate and prone to high literature so my guess is the story is legit. It may be that the C.O.D. requires the VIN tag to be removed as part of the process. I don't know Florida law on this matter. It may be required that, like some computer stuff, the ignition circuit be disabled to declare it scrapped (some computer scrappers just cut the power supply wiring).

The fairing has lots of JB Weld looking glue on it. Heck, it could have fallen off a forklift while in the crate. God knows those crates don't really protect the bike much, they just cover it and hold the parts for dealer assembly.

One Possibility is that he works for the Dealer and Gets an Employe discount on the parts thenFlogs them on Ebay.

someone should just give the dealer a quick ring, give them the link. get them to tell you if its legit purchased and check out the details of why its tags wer cut.

That does seem kind of fishy but the guy has 99.9% feedback and tons of sales so its not a fly by night seller. I'm looking to sell my GS right now and get something newer. I wonder if I could convert a GSe into a GSf? Panama City FL isn't too far away from NOLA. Probably not worth the trouble.
