Even though its a hassle..i like that NY has inspections. Its not hard to get one, and it keeps alot of junkers off the street. When I was in Indiana, they had a ton of shitty cars on the roads. Here, you don't ever see that because they won't pass.

Bikes are the same, some jackass puts bald tires on his bike (tubeless at that) the cords are showing and he wants to put it on the street. It keeps people safer  :dunno_white:

The government supposed to wipe your ass for you too?

If they didn't do inspections would you quit taking care of your maintenance?

Trust me there is no way it's going to keep anyone safer if they're dumb enough to take those kinds of risks it's improvement of the gene pool.

They will find a way to get an inspection on a junker. Used to see it here all the time.

No one knows what freedoms are if they never realize they've lost something.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

Thanks for that...who are you OMW now?  :icon_rolleyes:

I am the grumpy old fart.

An ancient relic of things past.

An old fossil who is today celebrating the loss of another year of my life.

A fossil who has no frigging IDEA of what OMW means :flipoff:

If your response was humorous I apoligize for missing it.

Everyone enjoy your rides and happy drunkfest to me, I will regret this evening in the morning.

OMW = Old Mr. Wilson... another grumpy old fart who reminisced about things of the past...your post just seemed like something he would agree with, didn't mean any offense.

Happy B-day, if in my own drunken state I read that right

the most awesome thing is if you have a vehicle tagged antique, you are required to registar it one time then it perminant for the rest of your life , no taxes, no stickers, no more registrations and no inspections!! which means I get to drive my 71 ford f100 with a rusted out exhuast and shot cab mounts a long with a rumble that will make your ears bleed. oh yea and a smashed right turning signal lense that works but is just a bulb exposed to the elimants still works though! .   it would never pass inspection but its still a safe enough truck as long as people stay more than 100 feet away from me unless they want to have their vehicle destroyed when they hit my truck.

same with my 73 kawasaki when I get it back on the road.
1991 Suzuki GS500E , a bunch of crap done to it :)

Something to keep in mind - at least for MD.  They are required to have an inspector on site whenever the shop (not the showroom) is open - state mandated.  I almost reported Ellicott City Motorsports because the shop was open Tues-Sat but the inspector was only there Wed/Thr.  I ended up going with Bob's BMW .. they loved having the GS there .. even did the ride in drizzle - I think the guy just wanted to ride my bike haha.

Oh - and the reason (as explained to me) that most bike shops are closed Sunday .. is to give them a chance to ride just like us :)

bobs is the nicest bike shope ive *ever* dealt with. second place is cycles usa in kensignton (where i bought my C50).
but the people at bobs are so damn cool i want to buy a bmw just so i can take it there.
