I scrape my sidestand before my stock pegs. I think I need to bring up the rear preload and get some stiffer front forks too though. If your suspension is set up and your pegs are up an inch and your centerstand is removed, I think your tires will be getting close to being the limiting factor.

yea there at the limit now with my nee down,
depending on how far my weight is up or down on the seat nee down, the front will give or the rear will give under power.

so i am trying to get better seated, so pegs then the bars, not sure if clip ons or seshadri_srinath bars jsut yet as i still do a lot of touring on the bike

I've got a pair of stock '89s that are bent to clear the tank.. I haven't taken them on any rides over an hour and a half yet, but on those short rides, they're just as comfortable to me as the old stock bars. If I get tired, I sit straight up, take my hand off the clutch, and let the wind support me for awhile, instead of my back/abs..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

My SM2s were more comfortable for me than the stock bars were. YMMV...

I'd go with the SM2.  As far as rear sets go, you'll want to make them adjustable if you tour.  Or just keep the old ones and swap them in before a long ride.  I put GSX-R rear sets on mine, 1+ up, 1+ back, and I can go about 2 hours before my hips start to feel it.  I'm 6ft.  You might also want to look into the rear suspension.  An SV shock will raise the back up alittle.  Couple that with rear sets and sm2 and you'll be set.
