I have tried everything I can think of on this one.  The right cylinder is running perfect ie. the plug is a good tan color.  However the left is black and crap and doesn't seem to always spark.

Here is what I have done/checked.

float level
idle mixture screws set at 3 turns out (I have tried to lean out the left cylinder and it acted the same)
Cleaned/rebuilt carbs.  all new seals and needles (everything but jets)
checked the resistance of the coils checked good
swapped the coils from right to left - still the same
new plugs (checked the gap before install .030"
checked continuity from one end of each coil wire to the other (good)
checked the igniter on the ight side engine cover (I don't the tool the clymer manual talks about so it might still be bad. checked good with nomal multimeter.  Clymer talks about a suzuki pocket tester)
went through all the electrical connections involved in this circuit and cleaned and put dielectric grease on each. no help
the only thing I can think of next is low compression on the left cylinder (haven't checked) or a bad igniter box CDI thing.  I do not  know how to check that.  Anyone else know by chance?

thanks
Alex

Have you checked for vacuum leaks?  In my ***Help*** thread, there's a video of my dumb ass doing just that.

Well I figured it out.  My timing was off by one tooth.  No bent valves or anything.  I got lucky on that one from what it sounds like.  The compression is good on both cylinders, but the left is still way rich all the time.  The right is a little lean.  I have cleaned and replaced all the seals in the carburators and checked the jets and they are the same from left to right.  But, the left is super rich all the time.  I don't know whats up with it.  I have the idle mixture screws turned out 2.5 turns on both, needles with one washer, and stock exhaust.  All the jets are stock size for a 95.

The only thing I can think of is that I have a vaccum leak on the left carb, but I checked the line ad put  hose clamp on both ends and I"m still rich.  The plug form the left is super black and the one on the right is slightly lean looking.
