Does anyone have any experience with the following "Fork Spacers", it's from GSTwins' Modification page:

http://gstwin.com/making_fork_spacers.htm

I'm just curious if anyone has any input as to the effectiveness of this "upgrade" and any thoughts on it in gneral...

Thanks in advance!

I opted for the spacers versus buying new springs because 1) I'm cheap and 2) I'm small enough that it doesn't matter....although that may not be true after this winter  I was only 100 lbs when I opted for the spacers...the higher your weight/more aggressive riding style the more you're going to want springs not spacers...

Fork spacers will do a few things for the bike.  They will extend your suspension travel, raise the front end, and increase ground clearance, all by roughly the length of the spacer you add.  That's it.  It's an adjustment for front end sag.

I had a solid metal spacers on my GS about 1.5 inches long. I found them when I redid my fork seals, the previous owner put them in. So i have no clue what it was like before. I never found my front suspension too soft though.
