well i pulled her out of slumber this past week cause the sun peaked out.
long story short, warmed her up, gave her an oil change, let her run...
and whatta ya know only the left cylinder fires.
ive changed the plugs, but maybe its the cables.
when i get time ill syphon the gas, check the carbs,
splash some new gas, check the fuel lines,
taka look at me coil/stator,
check me plugs again.

i had a feeling it was my main jets cause i cant get any revs over 4500rpm.
then i realized only one side of my engine was hot (have a touching habit).

...what else can i have fun with? suggestions please.  :thumb:

Get a spark tester and make sure that both sides have spark.

Most likely is a clogged pilot and/or main jet though.

Probably a corroded connection in the wire harness for the signal wire from the ignition box to the coils.
Common sense in not very common.

Keep in mind that nowhere is there any indication that only one spark plug actually firing.

uhhhh...maybe the fact that he stated the left plug is not firing and only one side of the motor was hot ...hmmmm

I had problems with my left cylinder not firing for quite a while, and the spark was fine.  The carburetors were a mess.

He never said that he tested the spark.  I read it as a misuse of the term 'firing' where he should have said something like running.  Unless you take him at his literal word, which means that he apparently also thinks that carburetors somehow have something to do with the operation of the spark plugs and shouldn't be allowed to hold a wrench, much less use one.

Maybe he has it parked in a draft???

with the engine running, squirt some gas or starting fluid into the carb of the non running cylinder. If it catches and revs up then you have spark, and it's a carb problem.  :thumb:
