CHILL OUT!!!  I guess i should have phrased it how long has this taken others to do.  I am fairly mechanically inclined and have a decent assortment of tools but I'm definitely not a bike shop mechanic.

Sledge: here's a quote they drilled into our heads during Infantry School ( That place that puts out the most skilled and competant ground fighting force on the face of the planet, just for clarification. )   " Life comes at you at 3x the speed of stupid, generally stupid is accompanied by his friend violent death,  all you need to do to outrun these two f%$kers is chill out.   Panicking brings you  to a dead stop no matter how fast you think you're moving."  The moral of the f%$king story is Don't take anything to serious.  Trust me nothing in your life is so serious that you can't calm down and provide a rational response.  It's done all the time in combat,  you can do it too in your daily life.  The other thing they teach is that a healthy amount of cockiness is a very good thing, so pretty much f%$k off!!!!!! :flipoff:  pretty much your a duck and it doesn't really affect me  :icon_mrgreen:  Yeah I know Tard Farm Here I Come!!!!!!!!!  Ohh well  life goes on.........

Jesus Christ dude. I have two things to say to you.

1) I haven't been on here in a while so I don't know how long you've been here but you really need to respect people responding to your posts. They know much more than you. Don't piss them off.

2) Stop acting like a god damned animal. Hurray, you're in the Army, of few of us on the board are (3imo's @ Ft. Rucker. That doesn't make you special. And stop throwing your rank around like it means something on this board. I'm pretty sure if any of us soldiers on the board met you face to face you wouldn't be telling us what to do.

Calm down and stop being such a a spaz. Good luck on your GSXR front end.  :thumb:

That would work theoretically.  Except I really wanted to give em a good breaking in  on the ride, but I guess if it comes down to it thats a pretty good idea.    As far as that first qoute I watch way too much southpark  :dunno_white:    I'm ready for that damn UPS truck to get here!!!!!!!

spc

Tussey:  (not trying to start anything here!!!)  What branch are you/what MOS?  ( Just curious )  And how the hell could I throw rank around when I barely have any!!!!  it's my own damn fault too.  My home unit is an Intel Co. and nobody ever gets out cause they don't generally deploy,  so I get bored and volunteer to deploy with other units or snag crappy AGR jobs.  Thus I'm never actually with my unit so even if an E-5 slot came up I wouldn't get it cause I barely know my own chain of command.......  Oh Well.  I'm going Active duty when I ETS this summer,  Figure I might as well I pretty much stay on Active Duty all the time anyway.

spc

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!  I'll update when I get to a stopping point.  This should be fun!!!! :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

spc

One more crappy class til I get to start on this...........  I'm gonna turn up the radio and crack a beer and get covered in grease!!!!!!

spc

OK so I'm taking a break for chow.  Ive got the new forks on and clamped down just working out all the cables and wiring.........  Any one know how to pop the ignition out of the old GS triple.  Damn thing looks like its riveted in.....  The new forks and clip-ons are definitely giving the ol GS a more aggressive look.  Now I just have to figure out what to do about a head light   :dunno_white:

l3uddha

on the igntion; I couldnt get those damn thingies out, so I just sawed the f%$king thing off the triple!  :icon_twisted: took five minutes.

p.s: I hope you greased your bearings  :icon_razz:

spc

Yeah that's what I was thinking I would have to do.  They were already pretty greasy but I cleaned em off and threw some white lithium grease on that stuff is awesome.  Well off I go to gind my saw  P.S.  If Anybody needs anything up front make me an offer  i've got it all including brand new OEM handlebars,  I'll probably be posting this crap later in FS

You're Super Special!!

dgyver

The only non-distructive way I have removed an ignition is with a screw extractor.
Common sense in not very common.

spc

Me and my friend Mr. Hacksaw took care of that. tommorow I'll drill the holes out so it mounts up right.  Any one know of a decent streetfighter fairing/headlight???
I need somewhere to tuck all these damn wires and haven't figured out a bracket for the old headlight yet.  Other than those two things everything wen't pretty smooth.  It pretty much completely changed the steering of my lil GS. And the riding position......  I'm liking it so far.....just took it up and down lit back roads though since I don't have a headlight rigged.

spc

All right. got some headlight brackets worked out to fit.  all I need to do now is permanantly attach the ignitoin ( probably use JB Weld??)  After I worked out a kink that was pulling my throttle cable when I turned right everything was smooth.  Put about 60 miles on it today and noticed the difference in handling in charp curves and braking right away.  I'm off to put another 60 or so miles on!!!
