Stuff like this makes me dream about a motorcycle tour of Europe. Preferably with a lovely lady on the back.  :icon_razz:

Most of Western Europe makes a lot of the USA's architecture look like cheap shaZam!.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Yeah, but the Victorian and Colonial Homes here make for great scenery on those back country rides  ;) ;)

Venice from the ship

Dubrovnic Croatia

Pantheon Roma

Nearer home, two London views..

bad ass pics! not just the locations which were awesome, but you had some good (to my taste) shots in there... too many to mention one by one.... but... the Pantheon looks hella forbidding (amazing it's still around), nice shot of the alley in Croatia, and that street in Cheb is a trip.

Talking of India, I have always fancied going there, If I could manage it I would like to do one of those "Great train journeys of the world" I believe there is a nine-dayer North to south journey possible in India but i think it's a bit expensive and will have to wait on my wish-list

It is second after the St Louis-Memphis-Greenville-Natchez-Baton Rouge-New Orleans riverboat trip. After discovering one of those old advertising mirrors for a steamboat paddle-wheeler I asked if it was still done and as a result have a atanding invitation to aligator steak's at OMW's place.

scottpA_GS, the London shots are Trafalgar square from the entrance of the National Gallery and the one with St Pauls looming is probably from Fleet Street of the Holbourn area.

nightrider, Cheb was a real revalation to me, a gingerbread town. It was the first town I came to in Cz and I stayed overnight there at a place called "Pension Hanibal" I parked the GS outside and went in, found my way to reception one floor up and the old dear pointed at the GS on a cctv screen and said Autoblahblah?? I suppose the helmet and gear were a clue and beconed me to bring it inside, they took it through to a sort of secure covered courtyard for the night. It was a delightful place very cheap and freindly, I had a great meal the only downside was by ten everything was closing up but after a days ride from Bernkastel cutting south to Bayruth before a forested mountain ride to the border through a spectacular thunder and lightening storm (but only light rain) I was well tired anyway.

holy crap. gmap "dover england to cheb, czech republic" = 983 km about 10 hours 14 minutes...

GS tour of Europe is like, at your front door. In 10 hours here I wouldn't even be to LA, and that would be on I-5 :P

I wonder how many people on this board would be down for a GSTwins tour of Europe...

30 days expenses at $75/day = $2250

30 days rental at $100/day = $3000

airfare = $1200

Total: $6450

I suppose it could be done in that sort of timescale but I meandered about a fair bit, I spent the first night in the Mosel Valley at the pictured place, Bernkastel and sampled the product of the vinyards, had a late start and made Cheb for the next night, it was just a name I saw on the map and thought I would take a look. On the return leg I left Prague on a Sunday morning and spent Sunday night at Weimar in Germany and the second at Valkenburg in Holland.
I recon the secret of touring is to take it easy and do as you fancy, that's why I never book anything in advance, works for me!

See all you guys on your Euro-tour then.

Thanks, Cal, for making me hate my life a bit more.   I'll post some pictures of the local shopping malls and endless suburban sprawl I'm stuck in the middle of here in south Florida.

From your first two pics, can we assume you live in the castle at the top of the hill?   Do you come down at night to terrorize the villagers?   If so, we want to visit and join the fun!  I've always wanted to terrorize villagers.   :thumb:
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

Cal Price

Yeah, that's it, you sussed me out, the castle, my Avatar is also my gaff, I don't bother much with terrorising the villagers all the time the innkeepers have voluptuous daughters, all that garlic around their doors keeps me away most of the time, the villagers that is, not the innkeepers.......
