I'm guessing so the bike'll weigh less and less weight means faster 1/4 mile times???

Not to be a kill-joy...

But I think that the reason your bike doesn't run well is SWID.  It's common to new riders that can't help but think that they can radically improve both their machine's and their own performance by screwing with it.  The engineers that designed it had a pretty good idea of what they were doing or it never would have made it past testing and into the market.

What's SWID?

Screw With It Disease.

Why not leave it alone and concentrate on learning to ride it well?   You'll both go a lot farther that way...

Luck,

You only need 5hp to go through a turn...
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

as far as messing with it goes im not some joe shmo who decided to pick up a wrench and fiddle with my bike im a trained mechanic and have been for the past 4 years now. and if im not mistaken the charcal canister can be bypassed by routing the hose from the tee directally to the tank same out come only difference is the fumes going to the canister get filtered to some extend(not totaly sure about that) and the bike (or car) really does not need it its just and enviromental thing instead of venting all the fumes into the atmos. send it to the carbs to be burned.  older cars dont even have this kinda stuff, at least none im aware of. and for me its mainly cosmetic i want to be able to look at my fram and see the other side not a bunch of clutter. biek and car engineers are good at what they do dont get me wrong but they also have to go by a strict book of things that need to be on a bike to pass regulations and since cali does not have yearly inspections for bikes why should i keep this crap on i see no good reason. what i was asking was should i cut the hose or plug it but i guess now im going to just hook it up to the T, but im not sure yet im going to try a couple of things a see which one works best
oh yeah my bike Ran like crap cause some idiot mechanic didnt know what he was doing and messed with my carbs and screwed them up put thread locker on the wrong thing forgot the little o rings under the diaphram and didn sync the carbs properly but i fixed all that crap but wait i guess since i touched it its going to run like crap maybe next time ill send it back to a mechanic so i can pay him to F&^% up my bike. i never took any of my cars to a mechanic why i am one why pay when you can do it yourself thats stupid.

Tard Tip of the day:  super glue those f%$king o-rings to the slide cap!!!!!!!   In the last week there have been like 10 posts of carb trouble that have led back to those damn o-rings.  Even my special self f%&ked those up and god knows if you drop one you'll never find it.  thank god it's only like 30 cents to get new ones

mach1

30 cents :o i get them for free but then again i work in hydraulics and we have tonzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of o-rings  :icon_mrgreen:
