So last Friday I was on my way back to work from lunch and about oh 30 yards from my apartment I started coughing, in a turn.  A little bit of uncontrolable muscle spasm + a little bit of panic + a little bit of target fixation = 25 MPH parrallel parking job on a dirt hill.

Damage report:
Me: right hip ouch from impact, other than that notta.  Its a lot better now.
Bike:  Some scuffs, most if not all will buff out, yay soft hill, broken right mirror, handle bars FUBAR back to stuck for me.

So since my cough is getting better and worse at the same time i have decided to park my bike untill I get the problem resolved with my doc, ongoing process.  I mean I have coughing less often but sometimes when I start to cough I can't stop and I can't breath and on 2 occations, both times not driving and both at night when my cough is the worse I have passed out for about 4 to five seconds.  It scares the hell out of those around me.....  I JUST WANT TO RIDE MY FREAKING BIKE

Anyone got a spare stock right mirror for an F model

Yeah I am seeing a doctor about it and nothing that I have tried helps.  The cough started when my sinuses kicked up about 2 months ago and has come and gone since.  The doctor is talking like he thinks it might be sligh asthma like symtoms but doesn't really know yet.  As soon as I started to cough I was already in the turn and was going to stop but before i knew it i was uncomfortably on a hill

One think i know for sure that will set me off is if I get laughing histerically at something, that was the first time that i started to cough and then passed out for a short while around some friends.  next time was just me and my fiance, I was watching tv in my lazyboy and started coughing, next thing I know Jill, my finace, was patting me on the cheek standing next to me really upset.  I go to the Doc tomorrow again and I am going to let him know that the bad episodes are few and far between but when I do have them they are worse.  As for know i am just going to hang in there and hope that something is found out soon or something works....

By waiting until you're safe to ride, you're protecting yourself and everyone else on the road. Get your health up to 100%, and then get back out there and rebuild your confidence. It's definitely frustrating, but the road's still going to be there after tomorrow's doc appt! ;)

One of the rules we've always had is that we don't ride if both of us isn't feeling 100%. If we get out on the road and things feel "funny," we turn around and come home.

Listen to that inner voice (no, not the one telling you to kill small children and cagers....the OTHER voice...the one telling you that you need to wait to ride)....that inner voice is a lifesaver!  :kiss3:

Y'all just have to remember that the voices aren't real, but if they're anything like my voices they have great ideas.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

ok so long Doctors appointment.  He has me on some lung steroids, nasal steriods (for sinuses), antibiotics, and an inhaler for the bad coughing fits.  I feel like a walking pharmacy, I hope the the barage of stuff kicks whatever this is.  If this doesn't help then i am off to the lung specialist.  Heres me crossing my fingers ........

Yeah I normally do this in the spring time with sinuses as soon as the weather swings, not normally with pollen, and it normally stops as soon as it is steadily warm.  The last appointment he tried a les aggressive way, just antibiotics, Which didn't help all that much.  This time he is going with a longer treatment of antibiotics and the steriods to hopefully kickstart my lungs and sinuses into kicking whatever might be making me cough and subsequently passout or blackout out of my system cause he things it is a mild infection of some sort too.  My BP has been high as well and my pulse the last two times he has seen me too, might be unrelated, might not.
