[18:45] <THING1> And he's REALLY on my ass.
[18:46] <THING1> I pass the car that was in front of me in the right lane.  Then I change lanes to the right again, letting them pass.
[18:46] <THING1> He stays behind me and to my side for about a minute, then speeds up, and both male and female are yelling something out the window.  Then they REALL speed up.

[18:47] <THING1> That's when I call 911 and tell the state trooper.

[18:47] <THING1> I'm about 1000 yards away from the police barracks (same highway) so I ask if I should pull in (not knowing if they passed that point yet)

[18:49] <THING1> I come to a stop, and before I can open my door, the female runs over to my car and starts screaming something.
[18:49] <THING1> I calmly (shaking though cause I don't know if they have a gun or anything) walk into the building.

[18:49] <THING1> The trooper says "you must be the one who called".

[18:50] <THING1> He then tries to explain to both of us that there's no place on the road for road rage, and tells both of us that we can file a complaint against the other at the Distric Court.
[18:51] <THING1> At first he says that I cut across two lanes of highway to cut him off.

[18:51] <THING1> and the trooper saw that too.

[18:53] <THING1> he asked to see both our registrations and liscenses to help us exchange info. I leave, and when I come back with my reg, I hear the cop telling him that he's stopped MANY people...  cops, lawyers, etc...  "EVERYONE BREAKS THE LAW, SO DON"T TELL ME YOU WEREN"T SPEEDING"

[18:54] <THING1> Asshat leaves, and I STILL was shaking, so I asked the trooper if I could sit down for a sec.  He's like Yeah... take your time..."

[18:55] <THING1> and I was heading to school too, so as soon as I got here (I'm at school), I write down all the details as I can remember

[18:59] <THING1> So I think I have to file a complaint on him, just in case he files against me...  And the thing is, they said there were TWO kids in the car...  And THEY were acting like THAT?

Dang An you have as much bad luck as me. This week a moron at work hit my tool box with a car that he was doing brakes on and smashed it up good and I can't get a replacement.  Then my boy hit the l/r signal of my new bike with a bat.

Man that sucks, I have seen some really angry and dangerous people that are vengful as f%$k but that is aweful.  People do stuff like this over passing mac trucks all the time around here.  Be safe man

I so just got home.  I decided not to call the state troopers tonight, but I'll call tomorrow.

I stopped by the Westfield Police Station instead.  I told them what happened, and they gave me a Road Rage Report to send to the DMV.

If the officials see this incident as a feasible threat, I'll be called to a hearing, and he might lose his liscense.  The hearing would be about 90 minutes away, but I think it'll be worth it.

I've seriously considered taking my GS off the road & ONLY riding on the track this season on, but I've thought it through & decided not to. Yea, things like this SUCK & really make you think about the risks; but geez, you were in your car when it happened. There's really no escaping it these days.

I decided to keep my bike because despite all the risks, it is the only thing I have to clear my head when I need to (and pour money into). Keep in mind it's still early in the season. You'll get more comftorable within the surroundings as time passes.

I'm sure a good night's sleep will clear your head of this. Otherwise saddle-up & go for a ride & you'll feel better. It's not about forgetting about what happened, but more remembering the risks and molding your riding around them.... or something like that....


How about a trackday?? I'll be getting a 2-bike trailer this summer & we can drive up to NHIS together...

I hate when people get all pissed off and ride my ass. I usually drive even slower than the speed limit to piss them off.  Or fake like I'm turning and keep going straight in front of them. They never get as pissed off as those people got at you, they usually give a dirty look of flip me off.

I don't know about up there but down here in the asscrack of georgia if the state patrol is on your side in an incident it's gonna be pretty open and shut.  Also down here we don't really have many actual Road Rage laws, but in that situation the person could depending on the DA assigned be charged with aggressive driving ( Misdemeanor)  Reckless Endangerment/ Gross Negligence ( 3 counts one for you and one for each of the kids, and at 3 counts it becomes a felony )  and Attempted Vehicular Homicide ( Felony)   At least down here, he'd lose a lot more than his license   I still gotta say though, the best way to keep people off your ass is a very visible sidearm

At 9:26am I get a phone call on my cell...  Since I'm at work, I can't answer it, but I can still look at the caller ID and see who it is...  "PRIVATE"

Great...  Only my house ever calls my cell with "PRIVATE".  So I call home about 15 minutes after and check to see what my dad needs.  He didn't call me.

Hmm.

10:13am I get another call, but I'm helping FOUR customers in line.  I check the ID and again, it's "PRIVATE".  I have a feeling that it's asshat calling me.  (He couldv'e gotten my cell number off of the flyer I have on my car selling the GS)...

Even tho I've got four people in line and it's against company policy to use a cell phone while on the clock, I answer anyway.

Sure enough, it's asshat.

Asshat:  Is this Nguyen?  (first of all, that's my LAST name you f*cking b*tch)

Me:  Who's this?

Asshat:  Is this Nguyen?  (I heard you the first time you f*cker)

Me:  Who is this???

Asshat:  I'm looking for Nguyen.

Me (thinking that it MUST be asshat):  Can you call me back in about 5 minutes?  I'm busy right now.

Asshat:  Is this Nguyen?  (Listen buddy....  You couldn't answer the trooper's questions directly...  Why can't you learn and answer ANY question directly???)

That's what I thought too when he called.  He's feeling "guilty" and wants this to all go away, so he tells me that HE'S not gonna file a complaint...

Since his wife was the one who threw something out the window, I wonder if she'll get her liscense suspended too if the officials decide to do that...

I seriously doubt he feels anything even remotely similar to guilt.  Whack jobs like that are only looking out for numero uno, so don't YOU feel any guilt with whatever you decide to do. They're going to kill someone someday (and likely get off with 3 months in jail with all the cryin' they'll do).
