Jack, Glad to hear you made it with minor(?) injuries. It could always have been worse. Can't believe people that try to flee the scene! On a side note, for those that heard about the trajedy in santa monica (10 dead, 40+ injured) when a car plowed through two blocks of the local farmers market...turns out he may have been fleeing the scene of a car fender bender. That happened 2 blocks from my office-total chaos that day.

Jack-get back on the bike when you're ready...it'll still be there waiting for you. Good luck collecting from the deadbeat driver too. Likely no insurance.

Take care and heal up!

Good mate of mine bought it in a similar fashion.  Broad daylight, dry road, doing the speed limit, got hit from behind by a YDH doing (the cops estimate) about 180km/hr.  The driver was unlicenced (from DUI) and drunk, car was unregistered and unroadworthy, the skidmarks were more than 50m long for both rear tyres, and the driver WAS NOT EVEN CHARGED because his old man was a friend of the local cops.  The guy removed my mate's helmet and threw it into the bushes, then said he wasn't wearing one.  May not feel like it at the moment, Jack, but you were lucky.

Can't believe the dude ran :o  What a moron what was gonna just be an accident  turned into a hit and run.  Lucky you're alive, when I read the story and you said you were turning I was like, I hope he didn't high side.  And sure enough you did and got hurt.

Get well soon, feel free to whore it up here to help pass the time while you heal.

Jack,

Sorry to hear about the hit and run, but glad to see that you are ok.

If you feel like it, will you discuss the details leading up to the collision
so that we may be better prepared to take evasive or defensive action if we find ourselves similarly situated.
