So I had to get my bike from the dealers and the brakes on my truck and my dads truck both went out this past week so I decided I'd ride it. Keep in mind its ohio and apparently god is punishing us with more winter right now.  It was only 20 miles but with gusting winds, wet roads, 25 degrees and to top it off it decided to start snowing like crazy after five minute.  Maybe it was a bad idea but I did learn a few things:
1: I need anti-fog spray for my helmet
2: My Wilsons leather gloves suck
3: Don't ride when its below freezing

At the dealer I found my next bike: The new Daytona 675.  After sitting on it and reading about it I have to ride it - if only I was ready. 123hp, 80% peak torque available at 4k rpm, weighs LESS than the gs. I'm in love, but its a long way off.

The Daytona 675 is indeed an amazing bike.

Save your pennies and work on improving your riding skills with the GS500.  Good things come to he who waits (and can afford it).   :)

get a scorpioin helmet! best investment in gear.  hands down.  i dotn care what one u buy or what color, the anti fog shield does it for me. it NEVER fogs. i mean NEVER. in any weather.

Thats why its a long way off.  I plan on riding the gs like a rented mule this year - I'll have lots of extra cash and not have to work a lot through the summer so I'll have time for some road trips and a lot of daily riding.  Once my riding is being limited by the bike and not my abilities It will be time to upgrade. Until then I'll stick with the gs.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

are scorpions really that amazing? i freaking hate the icon i got so i'm going to get a new helmet and scorpions aren't all that expensive but i figured it's all hype. i guess i'll go try some on...

I hate the icon too.. It came off the front with a credit card. It's held on with some 3M adhesive. No residue or anything. Looks a lot better now.

I think he is talking about the icon helmet he has, not the sticker S icon.

My first helmet was a scorpion and it worked fine, but after buying a Shoei RF1000 there is practically no comparison. The Shoei fits like a glove, is quieter, more aerodynamic, and lighter. You do get what you pay for.

However I remember noticing it does fog a little more than the scorpion.  :icon_mrgreen:

ok so if u wanna spend $929.89 on a helmet then get a shooooy.

In reference to Nick and the S decal on the Scorpion, the 700 has a MUCH better icon. Its not cheesy like the 400

 Hardcore!

And the 675 *is* an absolute beauty. When we went on a group ride, jbeaber's new (at the time) 675 really turned heads (and sounded amazing and was just downright gorgeous!).

+3(?) on the Scorpion helmet. I love mine, and it's never, ever fogged up on me. It has great air flow in the summer, and it's a LOT less noisy than my last helmet was.  :thumb:

"Like a rented mule"

I'm still laughing, 20 minutes later when I arrive at work, I'm sure. And later when I quote your post to co-workers, we'll all be laughing.

That's f$cking hilarious.
