Review of my new tire

I recently installed an Avon Road Rider in a 140/70-17 and LOVE it.  It's a little bit heavier feeling than the old 130 bridgestone I had but all in all I have no complaints.  While it's a little bit heavier feeling, it's not even close to as sluggish and weighted as my brohers FZ6 through switch-backs and being a slightly taller tire lets my bike run at a lower RPM at 70 MPH.  Where i used to run at 6 grand I'm now closer to 5500 RPM.  It is a Bias ply tire but at least that way I didn't have to change out a perfectly good front tire.  I doubt I'll ever be able to get rid of my new chicken strips with the way this tire is profiled but I do know that through a hard closing radious corner I can just push the bike into a little harder lean and have no problems what so ever.  It seems like a pretty sticky compound(at least thats what it feels like to me).  I'd give it a very solid 8.5 out of 10

Never used an Avon tire, but  a 140/70-17 should a very similar  profile to stock, and you can most definitely get all the way to the edge.

thats what you'd think... but the difference in height is .542", mate that up to a 140 being pinched a little more than a 130 and it's taller still making the profile taller.  or it could just be the way the tire is built, but i know that getting all the way down is going to require alot further lean than my old tire.

Hmmm...that intresting then, I wonder if the 140 is listed for a 3.5in rim or not. Different tires have different profiles, as long as feels good on the turns that all that matters

Actually the Roadriders and Demons are both sized for a 3.75" rim so they have an equally good fit on both 3.5 and 4.0" rims.  Approved fitments for both are 3.5-4.5" rims.  Previously the 140/70 tires were sized for a 4.0" rim and were still generally approved for 3.5-4.0" but were not as good a fit on the 3.5" as the new Roadriders and Demons are.

yeah, it feels AWESOME!  no more wobbleing between the flat spot in the middle and the round edges of the old 130.  I havn't been on a demon yet but i do know that the roadrider is a VERY fun tire.
