I finally got my bike together after installing new rings, deglazing cylinders, decked head, new gaskets, and new valves.  Now it won't start.  The battery is dead, so I have to connect it to my car to get the engine to turn, but it doesn't catch.

I let it sit on prime for a while before trying to start it, also left it on prime while trying to start it.  If I open the throttle with the choke on while starting, the right side fires on every rotation like it's about to start, but won't.  It even heats up.  The left side (still) does nothing.

I took out the spark plugs and cranked the engine, gas sprayed out of both holes, and I unscrewed the carb drains for a second to check if there was fuel in them and they both let out fuel.  If gas is getting from the tank to the carbs, and then to the combustion chamber, it's fine right?  Also, when I pulled the plugs, they were clean looking and wet with gas, indicating that fuel was reaching them.  Does that pretty much rule out a fuel delivery problem?

There are some other things I need to check, I just wanted to make sure that fuel delivery wasn't one of them.

It's been sitting with the same gas for about 4 months, so I'm going to try draining it and getting some new gas.
It has spark, but the spark plugs might be bad so I'm going to change those.  I'm also curious to see how strong the spark is, so I'm going to try and find a meter to test with.

If you guys have anymore suggestions on things to check, please let me know.

Fuel seems fine, trying to start it on prime means you might be flooding it. Check your spark next, could be plugs, caps or the HT leads if the coils are fine. It could be a bad connection in the wiring to the ignition control box or pulse generators or to the ignition coils, might be worth checking your cam timing just to make sure.

Check the connections to your left coil.

Try starting it without the choke.
