If you want a bike with a split seat, just buy a bike with a split seat.

...You're kidding, right? 2002? Old? I mean, I guess if you have to buy super new then maybe. But no. It's not old.

And you are planning on doing a track day? No offense, but yeah freakin' right. Drag strip, maybe. But the drag strip is not a "track day".

Gotta agree with alpha, an 02 is by no means old... and if you don't have the knowledge to realize that/do your own research on a bike you want to own you don't belong on a track, much like senile 92 year olds don't belong on the road.

Maybe he's into the Newest Latest Craze thingy. Wish I could Afford a new bike but I'm kinda fond of my Old Junk.I've been to the Cycle shop a ew times and Drooled over a NEW 03 SV1000 enough times that it's probably starting to Rust.Then I get to thinking about that Payment every month and leave. $5000 could restore my 68 T500 Cobra andmy 72 GT750.

lol, i knew i was gona get burnt for that one. what i should have said, is a 02 going to require a lot more maintanace than an 06? and i think im ready for the track, im sorry u feel other wise i have ridden 10,000 in the past moth, attend several of those motorcycle safety courses to keep up and make sure im doing things right.  I think  that buy november i should be ready for my 1st day.

If anything I'd figure it'd be easier.  You don't have to worry about voiding a stupid warranty.

I know a guy who is selling a 05 or 06 ( dont remember ) Gix 6 that's mapped and has a full yosh exhaust.  He's pretty much willing to take anything reasonable.  Goin through a divorce   I'm goin to talk to him tommorow about it, but I probably wont be able to afford it I'm on a budget now that I've dropped a shaZam! ton into the GS

After all...this is what it seems like you want to do...nothing wrong with stunting..just do it in a stunt park. Some guys I know are opening NY's first bike only stunt park this summer
