thanks is the frame and forks on 97 same as 2000? Also i was checking out your thread on project bike. How did you fit that swingarm on the frame. cuz i hate small tires on the rear and on mine its 130.

All years of the GS forks are dimensionally the same.

Just measured them...the Kat forks are 775mm long and the GS are 750mm. This is measured from the axle to the top of the tube, below the cap.


That is a stock swing arm on my 97 with Bandit 400 4" wheel. Relocated the brake caliper below which allowed for the clearance at the torque arm. I have a Bandit sprocket carrier, that I still need to install, which will give me the extra clearance at the chain so I do not need to shim the sprocket. Odd that the Bandit 400 hub is narrower than the GS eventhough it is wider.

Another option is the 4.5" Katana 98+ wheel. There is a write-up in the FAQ.
Common sense in not very common.

thanks for the help, even thow the forks are shorter i will still try it from the top, when ever i get them.
