Hey guys,
Past weekend I washed my bike cause there's a lot of mud in my area, so it was really dirty. I used a regular garden hose with nozzle and washed my bike. Fast forward a few days, now the bike won't start. It doesn't even turn over. I turn the key in the on position, pull clutch in, and start and starter doesn't even kick it, but there is a ticking sound in and around the battery. I'm in the process of taking the fairings off to take a better look, but haven't had much time. The battery is fully charged, oil has been changed, and gas is full, it was running 100% before the wash and after 0%. I'm sure water just got up into the electrics somewhere, but was just wondering what you guys think the problem could be or where to look.  Thanks.

you say the battery is 100% are you sure  ? have you checked the watter level ? have you tryed to jump start it ?  dont look to hard in to it . tell you have tryed all the easy stuff first . most the time when you hear the clicking its the result of a dead battery . sometimes it dont take long for a battery to just up and quit

You could have some Serious Corrosion on the Battery Terminals.Sprayall o the Electrics down with WD40
If it's Not Broke Modify it.

When I got my bike it clicked like that too... the battery was dead. I replaced the battery ( it wouldn't charge ) and it hasn't clicked since. I would check the batteries connections and make sure it's fully charged. If it still doesn't work then I'd replace the battery.

+1 on the dead battery...had to replace mine, did the exact same clicking noise.

Hmmm.... would suck if it's the battery cause it's relatively a new battery. I've kept it topped up with distilled water and charged, but I'll have it tested. Thanks guys.

I knew there was a good reason I never wash my bike....  :thumb:

yeah i had the same symptoms and it turned out to be a dead battery despite how much I thought that it wasn't just becasue all of the lights and stuff came on.  there just wasnt enough to get the starter to attempt to turn over.
