My bike just dumped a full tank of gas in the garage at work

My plastic fuel filter melted and cracked, then dumped 4 gallons of gas on the floor of the garage at work. So I guess I just gonna put a new fuel line in and ditch the crappy filter. I'm not gonna bother with tracking down 7mm line, so I guess I'm going with 5/16.

Melted from what? Engine heat?

That's my guess. I had it about halfway between the carbs and the frame petcock.

That sucks. Guess it could have been worse...either when riding or even catching on fire.  :o

Ok, I got a new hose from the frame petcock to the T between the carbs. Problem is the stock hose clamps don't fit around the new hose because it is much thicker than stock. Also, when putting your tank back, don't forget to turn the fuel valve on or you won't make it very far.
