Hi everyone!
I came across this site while doing some research on what starter bike to buy. I have recently purchased a new 2007 Suzuki GS500F and am happy to join the club! This is technically my second bike (first one being a 1976 Honda CB750 Hondamatic) but the GS is the first time I've actually taken one out on the road and I can't say anything more than I LOVE MY NEW BIKE! I'm tired as I just rode for a few hours, but I thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. I'll post more info tomorrow!

Welcome! As someone else relatively new to this site, I can tell you it's an invaluable source of information and support.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Hi!

+1 on what MinnesotaCafe said, I found tons of info and many competent folks in this forum, and I'm a recent owner of a GS, too (2001 E model, in my possession since March).

As for choosing a GS as a starter bike, very good choice... this is my 1st real bike, too (apart from the Yamaha TDR250 2-stroke the driving school gave me to learn and pass the driving test 2 1/2 yrs. ago), and up to now I can't speak well enough of my bike...easy to ride, quite comfortable, good km/litre (..oops, MPG  ;) ), fast enough...

See ya!

Welcome CoyotesFan84, I had a 81 CM400A that I bought in like new condition in 90 with only 2k miles on it.  Gave it to a friend with 98k miles on it and it's still running with over 100k miles on the clock.

Came in handy a coupe times when I couldn't use my left hand to ride ride my GS500.  Had a lot of fun with that Hondamatic, it was a great backup/winter bike to the GSs.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.
