Yup, I took the wife out the other day so the cowl came off.  Been siting there since (without it) and I hate the look.  These seats definitely look better with cowls.  I think you need to paint your bike yellow now!!!  :woohoo:
I thought the same thing when I put the cowl on and stepped back to take a look at it.  Photoshop time!

do you predict any dangers of the front brake line that is looping over the tire?

the bike looks amazing. how long has it been since you've fired it up and taken a ride?

No, the front fender is not on the bike.  Once it is on there the brake line loops over the top and clips to the fender.  :thumb:

lookin really good, i vote paint the tank yellow like the cowl. or the cowl blue like the tank

super gold to match the forks and rims! cowl gold, tank gold (black out the suzuki lettering and leave the silver/black strip to match the frame and seat) haha

just a random thought =]

edit: you took off the front fender and you also took off the rear hugger? or did you just have it mocked up before and that'll go back on once youre ready for permanence?
Just had it mocked up before.  I have never actually had the front fender on.  I don't have the hardware yet.

Did you entirely remove the torque arm?
Well yes because it didn't fit around the 160 tire.  I know I have had this bike forever, but it is still a project.  Doesn't even have a headlight or gauges yet. Getting very close though!  :icon_twisted:

O.C.D.

Yes Charles, were is the torque arm? lol

Actually have you mounted it up yet to check clearance?  I made mine after yours and it was wider.  :2guns:

Oh, and yellow FTW, start Photochoppin.

A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

I mounted it up and it rubs a little.  I will need to tweak it a little bit.

cosmiccharlie

Quick chops.  Didn't spend a lot of time getting the colors right.  I'm not sure I am diggin they yellow.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.

O.C.D.

With a dark charcoal frame that yellow would look sick!

Rubbed huh?  Your tire must be huge cause my 160 has plenty of room.  Crap.

blue. only cause the yellow isnt the same yellow as the wheels. or visa versa. so it doesnt look right with 2 differant shades of yellow/gold. but if the wheels changed i think yellow would be cool, also cause theres sooo many blue bikes out there too

cosmiccharlie

Nope.  Other things have taken priority, but I have decided to keep it and finish it.  Look for some small updates soon.

WOW. AMAZING BIKE!!! I just read this whole thread from beginning to end, I even registered on the site somewhere in the middle. one of these days I hope you get to ride it. I just reclaimed a 93 from my parents backyard that I had abandoned there a few years back. I'll be reading through this thread again because there are some awesome ideas scattered throughout.

Way back when, Cosmic's bike was the inspiration for me to hack my GS, thank you, it's been a journey....Your stuff still looks killer, way better than mine, but thank you for the inspiration.

Yup, thread started 3 years 6 months ago and it is still a great read. Like all the updates, ideas, and changes. I learned from your post Photo Shop saves a lot of time experimenting in colors and shapes. Hope you finish it before the end of the Mayan calender though. :thumb: Can't wait to see the finished project  :woohoo:

I VOTE BRIGHTGREEN! or red, and everyone will think its a duc. either way, im betting that once you paint the cowl blue, your gonna wanna paint the tank witht the same blue cause it'll be hard to find the right blue anyway. so if i were you id photoshop some more colors that you might like since youll prolly end up painting over the tank and cowl anyway

My vote is for the scheme above with 3 minor modifications.

1. Front caliper painted black to match the rear.
2. 1/4 fairing match the blue of the other parts.
3. Copy seamax's exhaust with blue anodized tips

Also love to see this picture with the new GSX rims and hugger?

This build looks awesome as is just wanted to throw out some ideas :thumb:.

I'm kinda partial to the yellow....maybe because I had a monster and it was that color yellow lol

LOL, hope you don't get mad at me joshing you. I feel better now not having a project running as long as yours! But hey who cares, it's great reading and if you ask me and we all believe...err I believe you will finish it someday.

And good news..I heard on the radio the other day they were off on the Mayan Calander by "50 YEARS" no worries.
