Ok folks, As we have finished the First ride(sorry I missed out) lets start planning the second.  Im thinking some time in june/july? Im out for the 8th and 16th of june but other than that im up and good.

So for routes, There is M-37/22/whatever the name changes to again, Starting In Traverse City,

The other route Im thinking of is along the lake shore starting in Muskegon ludington, that area, or sleeping bear dunes?

not really sure what other Routes there may be and I cant get that damn map from the last thread to copy in here, but I think there was one in the grayling area as well??

Either way let me know whos in, lets decide a place to ride and then a weekend to do it on.  If we do it close to traverse City Ive got places for people to ditch trailers if they are coming to faraway, and a couple of couchs to crash on if need be.

alright lets do it!  and this time, I promise, Im gonna make it.

i live in muskegon,in the summer there is alot of trafic on the shore line roads.    i have heard that there is some good roads around cross village area.
every day above ground is a good day.

If its going to take place up north, I might have to trailer my bike somehow . . . thats just a loooooong ride. I even suggested the other day to see about renting a lot at a campground for us all, and just bringing sleeping gear etc. I'm almost positive it would have to be a 2-3 day trip for me because of distance.

darb85

Ive got a place for maybe 2 people to crash if they need it, plenty of places to park as well, so let me know.  just a coach but it would work and there are a ton of camp sites around. either way let me know

ya the roads up here are quite amazing!  starting riding today and ended up falling in behind 2 cruisers and a gixxer.  on the long streights when they would get on it id have a little trouble keeping up but in the twisties I had to back off a bit.  Man I love this bike!!

Interest is still there.

I've been busy lately doing minor works on my bike. Got everything ordered now I just need to install them when they arrive.

I'm still on the line if I can make it or not too. I'm trying to wait and see if my friend/s are going to be getting new bikes to come along. In addition i'll need to work out some sort of transportation for my bike up there as well  . . . but we'll wait and see how comfortable my new seat is before I go the cage route.  8)

Did you order the Sargent seat Jeremiah?

I'm tentatively in... either for a ride up north or the one east of Lansing that they did last year or ??.  I'm still looking for a job, so right now I don't have much for a schedule; I'll let everyone else battle over the dates

Yes I did. :) Really nice customer service ordering . . . hopefully the seat will be equally pleasant. But for $300, maybe it should message my ass butt as well?

I just installed my Givi windscreen last night too. So i'm gearing up for SOME kind of ride . . . just dont know where yet. :thumb:

PS: I should have most of June off, besides one wedding I think i'm all clear.

Leelanau Loop -- interest is strong -- but opportunities in the next 6-9 weeks are low.  Prefer Saturdays and they're all booked for me 'til June 30th.

But hey, if you folks work out a good date, go for it. If I find a weekend that I'm confident to be free, I'll advertise.  If I ride alone, I'll still have a good time.  But if any of you folks can make it, bonus time.   :thumb:

*snort*

. . .

My new seat is nice. I've pretty much got all my gear and ready to go besides some new boots (some retardation on the EU-US conversions with sizing.)

Is the vote for June or July?

Edit: I vote for July.

I'd really like to hit the Leelanau area next.  The problem is when.  It would be a full day for me but a fun one.  Right now July 21 or 28 are possibilities.  Any support for these weekends?

For me August is a problem.  I have only August 25th as a possibility, and if it works out perhaos a day in the Pinckney area is in my future.

But feel free to settle on a date/time that work best for the largest number.

Roy, you either must have the most active social life ever, or have the worst job known to man to have so few weekends open lol

RedShift

Jeremiah, I could understand how you might think that.

Call it a balance between multiple needs to share my time.  Work wipes out my weekdays, and family deserves first call on the weekends.  My motorcycling interest is squeezed in where I can.  My wife has some weekend events that has me become Mr. Mom, eliminating the opportunity for all-day rides, and with 1 weekend per month dedicated to MSF RiderCoaching, there's not much left of a summer.

But when I remember my carefree lifestyle between college and marriage, I do regret not having started this motorcycling sport a lot earlier.  Ride every chance you get my friend -- it will eventually become harder to do as the pace of your life picks up.

Open roads and Blue skies...   :)

Thats actually very true. I'd totally forgetten that some people actually have families lol

I guess i'm at a lucky stage in life where my thinking is totally self-orientated. Its actually quite difficult to be single sometimes though - because you cant find friends who aren't to do stuff with! lol

But back to the subject, I might actually be selling my SV and looking for something more tour/dual-sport-ish. Dont get me wrong, the SV is a awesome machine and I hope to be having one again, but there are places I want to be that I dont think the SV can take me  :dunno_white: So I might be riding up on something new for Ride 2.0 if all goes to plan.
