rejet after KN lunchbox, timing advance, aftermarket can

I have a 99 GS500E.

I have a new chain and sprockets (stock teething) coming in the mail.
I have a K&N Lunchbox coming in the mail.
I'm waiting on a reply from a member named Bob about modding my rotor to advance the timing.
I want to redo my exhaust -- but may not happen for a while if I can't find a way to put a can on the stock headers..
*will this effect the jetting in any way?

I read through the wiki, and I read through the pictorial, and I don't think it'll be too hard for me.

I will order the mikuni jets through sudco.com
N100.604 (mains)
N151.067 (pilots)

Are these the correct parts?

Now, the part I'm confused about:
Sizes? 147.5? 150? 40 pilot?
washers on the needle?
clip position?
pilot screw turns?
This all seems really confusing to me.

the wiki says this for stock exhaust and KN lunchbox:
Quotepilot 40
main 140
washers 1
turns 2.5
people 2
will I be using these settings? I'm assuming I need a bigger main for the ignition advance and future replacement exhaust.
what does "people 2" mean?

Thanks to anybody that can help clarify any of this for me :)
-- and sorry for so many questions.  I did a search and found a million other posts with people asking roughly the same thing.  if there's one thing I learned from searching, it's to stay away from jetkits! lol

I'd do 150/40/3 turns/1 washer after pipe is swapped out.
I'd try 145 mains if your not doing pipe now.
The right pilots are non bleed, mains are slotted large round mikuni.
I sell a kit ... but no 145's I believe (or I can buy and send it if I can find it at a store)
$21 for kit including shipping and paypal. make it 27 for kit with 145's.
I'd try 145's over 140's ... dont know what some people do 140's for ... maybe new GS ??
Cool.

That'd be great.  I'd gladly buy the kit from you..  This all is a bit overwhelming for me LOL.

I'm pretty much guaranteed to buy your exhaust kit too, whenever you're ready to start making/selling those.

I guess I could get 2 sets of mains from you ... 1 set for before the exhaust, and 1 set for after the exhaust..  you think that would be good?

I'll need your paypal info :)

Thanks for your help!

Side note on the Srinath Flange:  I was looking and I'm pretty sure a pipe for a mid-late 90's CBR will work too :thumb:

Mattress, how about I put it together and have it ready to go, and tell you Paypal Id then.
Spcterry - mid pipes from most other bikes will not leave the can in the right location at the right angle to actually make it rideable. it may be same dia and definetly be the same flange bolt pattern ... co you can slip and put it on, but may have it hanging too far out or be hitting stuff ... AFAIK ... the CBR900 from the 80's actually will bolt on to my flange and heck almost fit on the thing well enough to rig up a thing to use it. we used to buy 900 RR wiley co's and use the flange in the past ... just that the wileyco's disappeared taking the feasibility of the flange business with it.
Like what the US, europe and the arabs did ... invent the automobile, and invent power plants that need fossil fuels ... and booya ... all fossil fuels are under the arabs ... so we go over and try to kick them out.
Cool.

Yup already took all that into consideration :thumb:  It is a little long  but aside from that it is a perfect fit :thumb:  I was just screwing around with a stock can off of my buddy's cbr after we threw his kerker on :thumb:   With the stock it's a job but with aftermarket you can cut the can down to an appropriate length most of the time :thumb:
