So, as you may have read, I'm doing a cycle tour up the coast from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA in about 2 months. I'm currently buying stuff we will need for the trip, and I realized we don't have good maps of CA/OR/WA. Any idea where to get these? Recommend any brands?

You can sometimes send for free maps and visitor's guides from a state, check each state's visitors' webpage... That's where all my michigan maps are from.  Just have a backup source in case they don't get mailed quick enough

Hi there,
No question is stupid, unless of course it is asked by GStwin member Mach1.  :)  Just kidding.
Anyway, I like the free maps from AAA if you are a member there. They have great maps and wherever I travel, I always seem to find one of their offices and can stop in for free local maps, info and more. Worth the annual membership just for the maps.
Also AAA offices have those state tourism guides and other great info for free.
Each state has a Web site where you can order their state highway maps and get other info for free, too.
Since your trip is still a ways away, you have time to order that stuff and get it in time.
Best wishes,

Lets all pause and notice the total BURN! :o

I use Google Earth pretty extensively before a trip.  Plan your route that way, and plan a few back up routes too incase of bad weather, etc.  Bring along a Rand McNally, and a few printed out maps (with routes highlited, for the tank bag window).

Good luck!  Trips are so freakin fun.

Book store.   Borders, Barnes & Noble.    Amazon.com.

Remember when gas stations gave them away for free?
