starting probleme

Hi well i got a bike that wasnt used for a long time, im pretty good at fixing bikes, but thsi 1 has me fooled, i got new battery, cleaned the carbs. but my needle and the carbs were seased so i took gsxr ones that i found in the shop were i work to see if it would work. Well i changd the gas and i try to start it with choke doesnt start, so i take out the new spark plugs put gas in it and then i try again fires up but idles hight so i turn off the choke abit and it dies, so i try it again wont start anymore, so i put gas on spark plugs and and turn off choke fires then stops after 2 secondes. Is it the needles in the carb?

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?   I have the same one.  96 GS500E

Your needles are seized, or you're having starting problems?

Like so may of the starting/running posts, my bike won't start, or if it is rare that it does start, it is erratic.  I cant figure out what the problem is.  Help if you can.
