stupid question, just need clarification....

i know a little bit about the exhaust and reading what you guys are saying you can put any can on our bikes, but my question is, what exhaust is specific for our bike (GS500), and is 04 exhuast kits interchangeable with a 97?  my exhaust is really rusted and i've only been able to find 04+ exhausts... thanks

Yes, any 2004+ GS500 exhaust system will fit all GS500s.
