I dont know about anyone else, but when I try to READY instructions on rejetting, I get lost.

Kerry posted a video of how to do a valve adjustment. Someone once posted a vid about adjusting the rear shock.

Does anyone have a vid of rejetting?

Check these out,

The vids are for different bikes, but I think they give a good basic picture of what needs to be done.

Im waiting for my lunchbox to arrive to embark on the rejetting journey, so we'll see what happens.

Its so easy you'll kick yourself when you try for not doing it sooner.

Basically you just remove the tank (easier to do if nearly empty). Turn off the tank drain.

Remove the fuel hoses from the tank.

Revove the screws holding the airbox (or lunch box air filter) to the carbs.

Unscrew the two clamps that hold the carbs to the engine block

lift the carbs up (all still attached to everything else) and twist till you can access the float bowl screws.

Remove the float bowls from each carb (x2)(screws may be very difficult to remove!!!!)

using a flat edged screw driver remove the jests you wish the replace.

screw in your new jets

replace your fuel bowls

refit carbs back onto engine block. Tighten clamps

refit air filter/box back onto carbs, tighten clamps.

refit fuel hoses to tank, turn ON fuel valve

refit tank

Enjoy!!!

Don't forget to drain the carbs after turning off the tank petcock.  Look for a small spout on the bottom of each bowl which can be opened with a screw next to that spout.

But galahs is basically right - very easy.  You may spend some time getting the float bowl screws off, but the rest is very straight-forward.

If youre running lean...do you up the jet size or should just replacing the old ones be good?

By replacing the old ones, do you mean replace old jets with new jets of the same size?  As far as I know, jets don't really wear over time, so the only way they could have issues is if you have rust in your tank and some tiny particle clogs up a jet.  If that's the case, use compressed air and NOT some piece of wire to clean it, as you'll end up changing the hole diameter.

Basically, you should up the jet size if you're running lean.  What kind of mods do you have?  Use the rejetting matrix to figure out, based on those mods, what's the best jet setup for your bike.

I have a V&H exhaust.

My bike backfires. Burps alot. This is a sign of running lean, no?
