I just picked up a suzuki GS500E with 5k miles on it and the only thing wrong with it is that there's no engine,  the that had it ran it without oil and it locked up...I can tell you its been sitting for a while, but i cannot find what year it is, i looked for a tag but it says nothing about the year, im pretty sure i found the vin though...Also where can i get an engine for it at a cheap price?  I dunno if i should get an engine for it, or part it out.....What do you guys think?

Nope, you're officially a noob.  Nood's are bikeless.

There's occasionally an engine on ebay for a reasonable price.
Sorry, I won't answer motorcycle questions anymore.  I'm not f%$king friendly enough for this board.  Ask me at:

That's it?  Sheesh... No problem there.

:o

You might be able to find an engine posting here or looking around on ebay....   Try posting a WTB on craigslist too.

The 10th digit in the VIN will tell you the year:

It's easy to remember after year 2000.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Yep, Noods are bikeless GStwinners.  He's not a nood though, he has a partially operational GS.  Maybe a "Need"?

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

You get my vote for understatement of the year.
