GRRRR. This bike hates me I swear, and I haven't even ridden it yet. I was looking around, moving the tank back out of the way to scope out the carbs for checking the balance, and of course I knocked the gas tank over. My pristine candy red tank is now scratched to hell with several good sized chips and scratches all along the ridged edges. Also have a nice dent in the front lip. Stupid stupid stupid.

It could be worse.

Sorry to hear about your tank.

Ah well, doesn't look too bad from far away, but it'll drive me crazy. Another fun project for my list :) I suspect finding a spray can of a matching color may be a challenge though... The rest of the painted parts are in good shape and I'd rather not repaint them as well.

I knocked my tank over too when I was cleaning out all the rust and other crap that was in there. (3 good sized stones and a huge chunk of something.  :dunno_white:) Put a few more scratches on it and chipped some paint. But it still looks alright, from 10 feet. Eh, what're you gonna do. Chit happens.

Must be an ohio thing :)

We'll have to have a tank painting party next year, after we're pretty sure no more maintenance is required for a while...

must be
I didn't know maintenance ever stopped, atleast with bikes that I own. They always need it.  :icon_rolleyes:

My paint would be super hard to find, I have that a '96 that has black base with blue flake.  That would be a rare can a spray paint.
