I Think i may have found a Gsxr1100 Slabside , on the cheap , im gonna guess at about 240-250 quid , but i really want to restore it , but ill neva get insured , but its got a mint condition front end , decent forks , duel breaks , clip ones , but then im left with half a bike , but it runs apperently, so im not sure wether to just keep it and work on it for a year or 2 , then ride it when im 21/22 ,

the fact i want a amazing gs , and to have the front end of a GSXR would be smart ,but i dont think i can get anythin off it , it looks old , so theres a chance i can fit the rear wheel ,to

well i im getting pretty good at cosmetic work, not the mechinical side of it , and i have no idea what sort of space i need for the particular model , thanks ,

If it's complete and running I'd just restore it. Hard to justify canibalizing a whole runing bike.

If you're going to do a front end swap it'd brobally be better to get it from a newer and lighter bike like the GSXR600 or 750 R1 etc.

Well its not got a seat or any fairing , or a front light or any other that , but its running , and in pretty clean condition , just looking at the pic , i can see it being a streetfighter anyways , but i no i wont get insured on it , not for a while yet ,

if it's 85-88 the forks ain't great....good but not great...89-97 are better

Is insurance legally required in England? It isn't in most states in the USA so I spend my money on health insurance instead. Can't do too much dammage on a bike before you're dead anyways.

Legally Required , If u ride with no insurance , like i did for a lil while , u get a year ban and now , *lucky for me , it was just before* they crush your car and bike , Driving with no insuance is like classed as bad a drink driving , thats why all you ppl in the us are getting really poweful bikes because you dont have 2 have it insured , Its a Must , Harsh But Fair , Suppose i have free heath care , but yea , i was banned for a year because of it , i dont agree with it ,

What states do not require insurance? "Most states" would indicate that 26 or more do not.

What may be the real point is liability verses comprehensive coverage.

Liability is required to cover damage you cause to someone else.

Collision is to recover loss to the property - in the case of a GS beater it would be silly to carry collision. If you have a brand new shiny GS, and a loan you are paying for it, the bank will require collision to recover the loss of their property. (It does belong to the lein holder's until you pay off the loan.)
