Hello Everyone,

I just bought what I think is going to be a fun bike. 2006 GS500f with 4500 miles. Bike looks new other then it's dirty from sitting for maybe a year. Had a 600 Ninja 20 years ago and was looking for a quad when I picked this bike up for $1200.00. Let me know what you think of the price?

I'm sure I will have plenty of dumb questions as I start to get to know this thing. Seems to me there is a wealth of knowledge here.

Wow.. thats practically "garage sale" pricing!

How Did You Find It? !!

I will get some pics up. Found it on craigslist. Guy advertised that it had 45000, not 4500. Even had it in the CL photo.
Need to clean it up as it is filthy. Getting a battery for it today. I jump started it to make sure it ran before I bought it. Maybe today I can even ride it.  :icon_lol:

Welcome to the crazy house.

Where are you located? Could you add that to your profile?

Don't go cheap on the battery. Too many posts about el-cheapos just to save a dollar. Go for a good sealed gell  or Lithium-Iron (LiFe) ones. Worth the extra money for a battery that will always work.

Be sure it is the correct one: positive AND the drain are on the right side. If drain on the left - battery drains acid when on the side stand. Not good for bike or battery. I can show pictures of the damage the wrong battery does when it drains out the left side onto the bike.
