just wondering how you would attain a key for your bike, if you lost it.  The one i have broke off and i cannot use it.  Can i get them through a dealer and suzuki or something>?

If you still have the broken key, a locksmith may be able to make a copy off of that.

You should be able to get the uncut key-blank from a Suzuki Motorcycle dealership.

Do you have enough of the broken key to have a locksmith cut a new one?

Common sense in not very common.

Ask your dealer/shop where do THEY get keys made.   My shop sent me a couple miles up the road to a hole-in-the-wall and been-there-for-50-years type of locksmith.   The guy was old, the shop was kinda dirty...but he had freaking EVERYTHING in there that had to do with locks.   Made me a key in 5 minutes, no problem.

You will NOT be able to get one made at Home Depot or Pep Boys.

2nd for the dirty shop thing.  I just went into the dirtiest shop, he had keys on every wall in there, walked right to the right one, grabbed two and made copies.  I broke the original in a day because it has two cuts very deep in the same spot and it is really thin there.  Thing just snapped!

Hey !we have one of those!

Ours sells gaz and small town groceries (bacon, eggs, chops type of deal)... I walked up and ask if he could, he identified the type of bike (suzuki) by looking at the key alone (the one I have doesnt have a marking on it) he talked to himself looking on his racks (walls of keys) and plucked one and made one in like 5 mins. His duplicator must be fromt the 1900's lol and covered in dust, and he finished the job with a file and a magnification lense... (felt like I was getting a key to  some special "harry potter chest" lolol

works like a charm though.... and the idle chatter was fun.... oh yeah hes 77 years old and live upstairs from the shop....

I therefore call him brother of the keymaster's  :_)  (hehe okay I like matrix movies a little too much)
