Well yesterday I decided that Insead of driving my Truck to Grand rapids For a wedding, I would Take my bike.  The trip down wasnt bad, 65 Degrees, sun shining, Light traffic on 131.  Just a little sore ass once I got there.  Went to the wedding, had an ok time, And then decied to drive home.  Had cooled off to about 55 degrees, not too bad, a bit nippy but twas fine.  Well Little did I know that it would get colder, much colder.  About half way home, I pulled of into a rest area because I was cold and Tired.  Met a guy with a 1982 Virago 750, we warmed up and then took off, I cruised with him until he turned off to continue to alpena while I turned toward Traverse City.  At this point, It starting getting colder, I passed a bank and it showed 45, Brr, but all in all, not that bad, hands started to hurt, pulled over at a gas station, Got a Coffee and snack, Sat in there drank the coffee and ate a little, warmed up, Got back on the road.  another 40 miles, Hands hurt, legs were numb.  Temp on the Next stop gas station said 38.  shaZam!.  Cold.  20 more miles to go, Got home, got in the shower warmed up, went to bed.

So all in all 290 miles Round trip and 6 hours, A sore butt, Legs but A perma-smile the whole way.  Longest trip to date as far as Distance and time.  But Oh so worth it.

Oh and I have gotta get some new tires, Looked at em when I got home, They are starting to get pretty bad,  Sport demon time!

Fun Trip !  :thumb:

Next trip that is planned to return at night, make sure you pack some stuff that's warm and comfy for UNDER the jacket. Gloves are the best thing, provided you can still control the bike. Warm hands mean you can still be comfortable. Cold legs you can deal with.

Gloves + map + ample travel time = fun

Yup learned that.  I stopped at a miejers and bought some flannel pJ pants and some thinsulate gloves, my Jacket was doing a good job of keeping me warm.
