I just bought my GS500 last weekend. For the most part it runs great and I am quite happy with it. It's my first bike so I am trying to learn as much as I can, and the few things it needs work on I'd like to do myself.

I am replacing:
The front brake lever (seems easy)
The rear brake pad
The handle switch - this is the one that worries me the most. I bought the part here: http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/showschematic.asp?dept_id=1254674

How will the wiring work? Is this a simple job? How long would it take a newbie? Any help is greatly appreciated.
