free dvd program

i had 2 dvd programs on my laptop, can't remember the names of em.  one came with my dvd drive.  anyways i had a problem, an had to reload xp, now i can't play dvd's.  so i need a basic player that can handle this for free, antone have one to suggest?  i don't need to do any burning or anything fancy.

to view dvd's you need the proper codec.

and download the k-lite FULL pack. It will play anything that you will ever throw at windows media player.

The best actual media player is VLC player.

Yeah, don't f%$k with codecs.  Get VLC and be happy when everything works.

Why? The k-lite codec pack is awesome, it's pretty much a single click install. No problems ever.

VLC doesn't need additional codecs. The program comes packed with support for most media filetypes.
