Strange Oil Leak

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have a 1990 gs500. I just got it about two weeks ago. When I got the bike it had a bad leak from the carbs, but that was about it. It seemed to be running fine after a new rebuild kit. I went through it, everything seem to be checking out. I took it out after work, and got about a mile from my house when I stopped to fix my mirror. When I looked down I was covered in oil, and so was the bike behind me. I took off the gas tank to see everything covered in oil. It seems to be coming out of a vent hose off the cam cover. There was also a vent or plug at the bottom with RTV in it. Would this cause back pressure? After I turned the bike off it won't start again! Can anyone tell me what is going on with it? Or is this a common thing?
Thank you

ohgood

all the drains are there to, well, drain. replace the line that was RTV'd.

i'd bet the oil everywhere was either the valve cover gasket or the tachometer connection.

either one can put a decent amount of oil out.

you do have the dipstick installed, right ?

It is not the dip stick I will take pics when I get home to explain better.
